I don't mean to nit pick the car, I would give my left nut for it. The valance corners look different comparing them to each other. He doesn't discribe any bodywork details either. I wonder how much original sheet metal is on the car. It is a Cali car so maybe the corners came that way from the factory?

What good does it do to hang onto a non-matching Broadcast Sheet, especially when the "right" car is located?

A condition of the sale should be that the name/contact info of whomever has that sheet is provided.  Who knows, maybe the mystery Daytona owner just didn't want to provide for free what would only be used to line the pockets of Desert Valley?   

Oh, and I already have 6 DaytonaSE's logged in my meager-but-growing Database.  There are bound to be way more than that in existence.

Definitely a possibility, but I doubt any dealer would contact someone and not make them believe they are the new and proud owner of a Daytona and were hoping they could get the sheet just to make their dying father a happy man  . I'm sure they didn't call and say "Hey, we are trying to sell a Daytona, give up that sheet".

I can somewhat understand why someone would not trust passing on original documentation these days. It seems like everyone is out for a buck. I mean how many guys buy a Daytona in this day and age and own it for more than 5-7 years? Probably not many.

No, they did not come exactly that way, although there are portions of the headlight pods & buckets that did not get complete body color paint coverage.  The whole nose was painted as an assembly after it was installed on the car, including having the headlight bulbs (lamps, for you purists out there) mounted in place and masked off.  What could be sprayed with the headlight pods raised was what got painted body color.

While there are a bunch of "technical"  things wrong with that car, it is still an authentic Daytona SE - which puts it in pretty rare company.  It is really interesting to see some of these flippership-owned cars being relisted with much lower prices/reserves.   Wonder if they think the market will continue to drop and they don't want to be sitting on a high-dollar inventory when the music stops??

i've seen this before where people want to make sure that they have 'trade bait' for their sheet.  since daytona A may have car B's sheet, but car A's sheet may be in car C, owner A is hoping to trade for his sheet more than he wants to 'give up' 'his' sheet.

yeah saw that also , bumper is bent also , looks like that corner has been bondoed up badly ,  still awesome car sure would love to own that

I think Doug nailed it on why the person in possession of the sheet probably wouldn't give it up. Because most cars don't have their correct sheet they feel more comfortable at least having a sheet than not having one at all. Even if its not the sheet that goes to their car.

I know of a HEMI 500 owner who bought his car new, and it had the wrong sheet in it. However has located the correct sheet to his car, but the person who has it won't give it to him. But has gladly given him a color copy. Which to me doesn't make sense entirely, but I can see it somewhat. Too bad that the sheet for the second car wasn't in the first one to make an even trade.

At the very least, I guess the owner of the original sheet was nice enough to give them a color copy.

They are still claiming 23,000 original miles. It seems they are familiar with the car's history through Winged Warriors yet they still don't mention it. I can't afford it either way so I'm not sure if I really want to be concerned about it...
