without knowing what exact rate the valvesprings are on my head

would dual valve springs be ok to use with a stock/blower cam?

cudaken who made your cam? i need something close to stock but somewhat custom  ;D

does trw make non forged pistons? i see mine are L2266 but i do not see F does f denote forged or what?

max

i have done it in the past and gotten away with it but i'm not sure i would recommend. it is always best to match the springs with the cam.

the springs can be to weak and go into coil bind and break, forcing a valve on top of one of the pistons or they can be way to heavy and add alot of stress to the valve train and possible take out a lobe on the cam or lifter.

not to mention the hp you lose tring to open and close heavy springs.

I agree just having a double spring is a crap shoot it could be right for you rcam or Way off & cause damage , get the right springs
L2266 should be the Forged, Speed Pro does make cast & Hyper also but I think the #s are different for those

Kryp2nitE

the springs are matched to a purple shaft 509 cam

are springs matched by cam and application or just cam?

cudaken

 Kryp2nitE a Douchebag made my cam ;D :icon_smile_big:

Dennis is from the old site and his the engine bulider for Reed Cam's. Douchebag was is screen name. Part number on the cam is 410-TM272H-TM282H-114A2. I used stock BB Hp springs from MP. My is a very mild cam and fit well with in stock HP springs range. Will be a slow spinner with max RPM's 5200 to 5500 RPM's.

To stiff of a spring will make a broom stick of a missed match cam.

Reed cam number is 770-474-6664 and ask for Dennis and you can talk to a Douchebag! ;D

Told Dennis yesterday that the site is back up thanks to Troy. Hope to see him post soon.

Some times being a  Douchebag can be good. :icon_smile_approve:
