The horn pad and ring are 1968 style. The wheel itself is the same as both years.

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Im trying to figure out if it came original with the car or if somebody changed it down the road before I got it. Anybody ever heard of a 69 coming out of the factory with a 68 wheel?

Just 6T9 CHGR

Jim, I believe the plastic is different between the 68 & 69.  The 68 wheel (which you rarely see cracked) seemed to be made of a hard rubber where the 69 wheel (always cracked) was made of a more hard plastic

I know what you mean. Style wise they are the same, but the material is indeed different. The 1968 wheels rarely crack, but I also see more black ones even in colored interiors (like my 68 had green guts and factory black wheel). The 69 seems to be a different material that crazes as well as splits. Looking at the wheel cover on this one, I sort of assumed it was cracked underneath.

looks like the same wheel that's in my 68!?!?!?

Hey Cody, when I was your age I wanted one of those little chain steering wheels in the worst way.  Of course that was the 70's and we also had sidepipes, air shocks and lots of polyester.
