This is the car my dad and I found in Little rock. Its a 68 charger RT all matching numbers with 48,000 original miles on it. A guy bought it here local and kept it in a shop and when he died his daughter sold it to the guy we bought it from so we are the 3rd owner. I had plans to buy it but my dad wanted a mopar and really knew how to buy the car right so he did. What is cool is he titled it in both of our names because we can share it and show it together. We sent it off to scotlea Idol rods for an good engine detail and some minor things fixed. He also replaced a few things in the interior and made the trunk look new again. The trunk needed a new pan and then we also put in a new gas tank too. He took it to a person friend named Greg Helmbeck for a paint job and all I can say is WOW. I have to say its one of the nicest paint jobs I have ever seen. He sanded it down to the original paint (someone had lightly blended on it) matched that and also matched it with some of the mopar guys to make sure it was the correct color. The car needs a few more little things but other wise its done. Ejoy the old 70s building in the back gound..thought it made a good back drop. If you have any questions feel free to ask. The car is Dark Green Metalic ( it looks black in the pics)

Great looking car!
I love the colour combo.

Now I know pretty much what mine is going to look like.

My '69 was originally F8 green with a green top but I'm putting on a white top.
I won't have a strip, though.

Arkgl01

This car had the green top originally but he put a white top on it. I wanted to remove the top and have it painted but it does look great with the white top!

That looks really good, congrats!
If I remember right, the car looked pretty darn good before, too. :yesnod:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Very, Very nice Mark!
I never have much good to say about those factory green colors, but that one really works right.  It actually looks much better than I would have expected the combo to work on paper.  The car brings the phrase "gentleman's hot rod" to mind.

IMHO the '68 Chargers are a really rewarding car to restore in factory-stock form.  Even more so than some of the '69s.

Very Very nice looking car, that air cleaner you have is not common, is it an early car?
Most people through away those larger air cleaners, and opt for the smaller air cleaners
you see the most of the time. My two early 68 RT's came with that larger air cleaner,
I am looking for one more myself, if anybody has one  :shruggy:

Congrats to you and your Dad.

By the way, the 68 pearl white vinyl tops, look great on any 68 color car  :yesnod: :yesnod:

The original owner bought the car in December of 67 so it was an early car. The front seat belts are green and the back seat belts are black and thats the way they came! Kinda like they ran out so just put black ones in. Also they said its not common to have a green dash like that? I am wanting to update somethings like new seat belts cause the old ones look kinda bad but my dad wants as much original stuff as possible. I agree now that I see how nice it turned out. If some one wants the vin number and can tell me about it I can post it.
