How do you tell a 383 from a 400? :shruggy:

If it is together there is a machined flat surface right behind where the alternaltor mounts and it will be stamped 400 or 383 or it should be cast into one of the sides of the block by the softplug holes, if it is apart you can measure the bore, the 383 should be 4.250 and the 400 is 4.340.
