Just got the 340 in the challenger and went to fire it up.  I had installed a new petronix electronic ignition kit,  I engine would not fire, I got out to move the didtributor and I left the key on.  I started smelling rubber burning before I relized what I did.  After moving the distributor I tried to fire her again with no luck.  I checked for spark and had none.  Does anyone have some advise, did I ruin the system? should I replace the coil?  I think this is going to be one of those days :brickwall:  I sure hope I havent burned up $100 :RantExplode:

I'm kinda dealing with the same thing here, I'm trying to find out how to test the pertronix to see if its bad.
When I ohm the two leads from it, it goes from infinity to zero.
Can you test yours and post the results here, please?
