Im planning on swapping a 400/727 combo into my charger that orginally came with a 318/904.  I was wondering if Ill be able to reuse my linkage from my column shifted 904 on the new floor shifted 727?  Or should I just take the plunge and get a floor shifter?

I am not positive on wether or not all the linkage will work or not.I don't know if the bar going from the frame to the tranny is the same or not?Since the bellhousing is a little larger.I am going to do the same swap on my 72'this spring when i get one of my 440's rebuilt.I looked at your post and you say something about using the floor shifter. If you plan to use an original floor shifter you will not use the column linkage at all.I know I plan to use an aftermarket floor shifter and slip it under a console i picked up for mine.

i think its all the same EXCEPT the bracket that mounts to the tranny itself .....thats all i needed to change on the dart i put a 440 and 727 in a couple years ago anyway.
