I'm doing some work on a friends '68 Buick Skylark and he wants me to install a stage 2 hood scoop that he got from Poston Buick. And he also wants it to be functional.

How do you attach the scoop to the hood ? Glue it? Screw it?
The base of the scoop is tipped up at about a 45° angle. Why?
Also he wants it to be functional.
How big of a hole do I make?
What do I use for an air cleaner base?
How do I seal it to the bottom of the hood?
Do I have to cut the bracing under the hood?
Does anyone have any pictures of a completed project ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Randy

terrible one

Cut a hole of the appropriate size for your air filter to come though/ to fit in the scoop, strip hood where scoop is to be installed and bond it with whatever's appropriate (don't know if scoop is metal or glass), then skim it with some filler where it hits the hood and smooth it out, paint, and that should be it. . .right?
