Thats the worst thing is to put a plastic tarp over a car, folks think they are protecting it but its like a rust excellerator.

I hope somebody buys that poor Dart and restores it. Same thing goes for all the other Mopes around it. Speaking of plastic tarps over cars....I guess I should go pick up that 68 Charger I know of before the tarp causes more rust...and the car already has alot. :rotz:

Wow - that is one crunchy Dart.  Too bad.  Even though I'm a diehard Charger man, I really like the factory big block Darts.

This guy is full of Sh*t.  Those pics are from Harry Halls junk yard.  I noticed the 73 charger in the background. The junkyard is in Plainfield pike rd in Rhode Island.  I'm going to go there tomorrow afternoon and get the story on it

Harry Halls yard is off of 295 exit 5 i believe.  He has the yard split up by car group.  The owner Harry is a mopar guy 100%  He has over 5,000 mopars in the yard ranging in years.  He also has chevys, pontiacs from the 40's-07.  When you get to the yard you have to leave your license with the office guy and you cant take anything off of the car until Harry says it's ok and gives you a price.  He is almost like the soup nazi.  If he doesn't like you, or you rub him the wrong way he will charge you alot.  If he likes you he'll hook you up

I know where a 69 hemi 4-speed Road Runner is that's been under a tarp for at least 15 years (the guy won't sell it)...I almost cry everytime I drive by it.

I sold my 67GTS w/383 last year. I think I'm going to regret that.

Old Moparz

The worst case scenario for a Dart GTS that I can recall, is a local one. I'm not someone who knows much about production numbers & such, but a good friend of mine is, & knew a lot about this car that another friend of ours owned for a while. The car was a 1967 Dart GTS Convertible, with a 383, but I can't recall if it was an auto or manual trans. Apparently, this year & model GTS wasn't supposed to be available until 1968, but my friend who knows numbers said this car was legit & figured it may have been 1 of only a VERY small number built.

The friend who owned it was moving out of state & decided to sell the GTS, which was a project car in decent shape. The alleged buyer, another local Mopar guy, who along with some of his family (who I won't name) who have a reputation for being local scumbags, ended up getting it for just the $50 deposit they left on it. My friend moved after getting the $50 & gave his father instructions of who bought it & that they would come pay the balance & pick it up. His father either didn't care, or misunderstood, & let the car go without the balance being paid.

The friend who moved away, later found out that they got the car without paying, & contacted them to straighten it out. They told him to piss off & that the car was theirs free & clear. He then tried to buy it back at one point, but was told the price was $3000 if he wanted it. He didn't buy the car back, & the scumbag woodchucks proceeded to part the rare GTS by selling the hood, then using the big block, k-frame for some POS A-Body Barracuda convertible that was originally a 318 car. This all took place close to 20 years ago, but even back then the rarity of the GTS was obvious.

I bought a part from them once a long time ago, but after hearing more & more about how they operate, I steer clear of them entirely. They show up at local shows & cruises with a few different Mopars they have restored, but nothing of any show quality. There's more dirt on them too, not just the GTS deal. A Road Runner that was being worked on by them for someone else was never finished, & there were parts missing when the owner got it back. There was also an entire parts car missing that they claimed never existed. I almost wish that they had done something to me personally, so I could name names & take legal action to bring it into the open.

They're in the same class as halpag, & I warn anyone who mentions them to me first, & let them use their own judgement.   ::)
