Hood pins.  That isn't the factory location is it?

I think that might be the factory location for '69, but not sure on that.  Daytonas and '70+ are all different though...

Awesome find of an awesome car!!   :2thumbs:

I know the pics aren't great by any means, but can anyone make out what type of wing that is? that thing is just perplexing me... the guy I'm buying it from (the lienholder - the original owner's brother) said that the car was like that, wing and all, the day he bought it  ?????

Looks like a Daytona wing :scope:

Oh really, einstein?

I think he wants to know if it came from the factory like that, since that is what the owner claims

:scratchchin: I'm wondering if this car ever spent time racing???

I may be mistaken, but I believe I looked at that car in the 1980s under a canopy at a business near Hwy 71 in EC.  It did not have a wing or any sign that it had ever had one.  It was badly rusted on top in the back of the car.  I have 2-3 pictures of the car from when I looked at it... might be a different car.  I will try to locate the pictures, but it might take a few days or more.

It definitely looks like a Daytona wing to me.  My car used to lean towards the same side too

The rake is totally different on a 'Bird wing, and they just don't look right when installed on Charger quarterpanels.

Man - you are on the money (right town - probably not the same location or car, though) - it hasn't been out of this barn for nearly 20yrs and before that, it was in another barn a few miles down the road (it was moved when the owner left town in like 1984 - and hasn't been seen since)...

Small world!

Actually, this car has been on the track back in the early 1970's - mainly Texas World Speedway in Bryan, TX... according to the owner's brother, it hit 179mph on the big oval - with only the exhaust removed!

actually, that's a little "camera magic" - the crack is only about 3in wide and the lighting came from the camera settings... it was pitch black when you look in with your naked eye...

I will try to find the pictures... but not tonight.  I grew up in Columbus, not far up the road (Hwy 71).

I have one of those cameras too.  It's a fuji finepix.  You can take a pic in a really dark room and the flash makes it look like it was taken in daylight
As far as the racing thing.  I remember seeing a charger just like that racing in Texas, when my father worked for Exxon.  He use to take us to the track all the time.  I remember specifically seeing a wing on the car, but it also had a daytona nose :scratchchin:

Good discovery keep us updated.Looks like a daytona wing.Back in the day not to uncommon to find someone put a daytona wing on a 69 charger.Or a daytona that
got its front end wiped out .And had to put on a 69 charger clip on.I seen a 69 charger 500 with a wing .I remember a 69 318 charger trashed out charger with a superbird wing

Reading Doug's comment made me go back and take a good hard look.  Wouldn't the "lights" actually be translucent roof panels? :scratchchin:

It sounds like the car does exist, as XS/Allen has probably seen every neat Mopar in the state of TX (except when mine was there, unfortunately :'( ).

Speaking of that - Allen, have you had a chance to talk with Charles yet?

You had better storm in there with your cash and tow truck and grab your prize before the guy wakes up or changes his mind....

you need to take measures now to cover yourself to prevent a similar fiasco like with the stand up GL and get a bill of sale from the owner's brother, then get one from the owner of the barn based on past due storage charges etc. cover your a@@. Plus get someone to run the Vin and make sure it is not stolen.

The day after your done with the resto, you don't want the long lost brother popping up looking for his $150K charger!
