Once in awhile this place has reconditioned units for sale, I saw a Lincoln 140 for $410.00 shipped. I just bought a Lincoln 140c for $529.00 shipped to my door.
They're recon'd at the Lincoln factory.
Anyway, I've been looking and learning about welders for a couple months and this is the best deal I've found.

the 140's are 110V, should be fine for anything automotive from sheet metal to subframes.

The "A" grade reconditioned ones are typically unused returns from stores that closed, etc.  They come back in stock from time to time, been watching.
