Up late to see if something is going on in the small peacefull environment of the charger forum and of the top 3 threads 2 are locked. Not that I don't agree on locking them, because well for obvious reasons, but I wonder what is the urge that some people have to express their opinions in a way that gets threads locked. I mean why name a thread Hitler's back, I believe if the person would have named it different it could have still been alive and I and others could have expressed our opinions about it. I know that Iran is a hot topic and could easily get out of hand, but I thought that most of us should be able to give an educated opinion about something and also respect the opinion of others.

Starting a thread with such prejudice is just stupid, it will get locked right away and move to the 2nd page in no time. Oh well flame me, but I wish we could all just grow up a little and be a little bit more respectfull towards others. I don't mean to say we should agree on everything with everyone, but stuff like this really frustrates me as it doesn't help, solve or do anything except irritate the shit out of me. Please think before you post guys, act like you are somewhat civilized.

BTW Big Lebowski you probably see this as a attack on you (as you caused the last 2 threads to get locked), it isn't, there have been more examples over the last couple of months and I just had to say something.

I didn't say I agree or don't agree with you, merely pointing out the fact that it does matter how things are being said. The way you just formulated it, is way better then just Hitler's back... But hey it's just my opinion on it.

While we're on the subjects of locked, why did the burn notice thread get deleted?  I liked that thread.  Did the Hollywood FBI threaten Troy with a plastic gun and squibs?

The title of a thread might get it locked faster than usual but I can pretty much guarantee you that any thread that has any hint of politics or religion is going to be pretty short lived. I didn't think my 9-11 thread would get locked since I didn't try to steer it in any particular direction but I'm well beyond being surprised at what political controversy can be found in just about anything someone brings up. And in the case of my Muslim wife-beating thread I asked for it to be locked because I didn't think it was appropriate for some people (Ponch and a few of his lackeys) to be making light of something like that.

I think where myself and others get into trouble is when we start topics that we take serious (and honestly believe that everyone else will think the same way) and then someone expresses an opposite opinion because they're trying to be funny or play devil's advocate. That's when it all tends to go haywire because different people are in different moods around here all the time. Ponch was probably smoking a doobie when he read my wife-beating thread and decided to write something inappropriate, but I was in a serious mood at the time so it pissed me off.

All we see are words here and sometimes a little smiley so it's difficult to know how to react to certain threads and moods and that's one reason why they don't usually allow controversial topics here.

The real funny thing here is  a thought this was a car forum for Dodge Chargers.  Personally I wish anyone thaty wants to talk religion or politics should find some other forum.  Why is there even an Off Topic page?  Keep it car related and you would not have this BS about whos god or which particular ahole is running this or any othe country at the momoment is better than the other .  I dont give a crap.

You are so missing the point.
You can create a topic about the 2006 charger and you will envoke emotional responses which will then turn into name calling.  I do agree that if you add politics and religion it's like throwing gasoline on a fire, but we live in America.  I can say what I want and not have the gastapo show up at my door and kill me
