does anyone have an answer to why my autometer tach works in Neutral and Park, but NOT in Drive?
the moment i put the tranny in Drive, the tach stops where it is.
hoping there is a simple explanation...

Is it a column shift?  Maybe something in the shift linkage is shorting the wiring to the tach when it is at just the perfect spot?

Just a thought - did you grab the positive/power lead from any circuit relative to the neutral safety switch?
