G'day guys,

whilst at the Nats I bought some repro spark plug wire brackets for my 383. These are the things that keep your leads neat and tidy.

The problem I have is that the one which bolts onto the thermostat housing won't fit because my distributor vacuum is in the way. Is this a common problem, because when I look at others they all seem to be facing in a different direction to my vacuum advance thing. I ended up bolting the bracket to the coil mount, but it doesn't look right.

I'll try to get a pic uploaded. :shruggy:

OK....but if I lift it out and move it around, won't that throw the tooth alignment out ? What your saying sounds right - I just thought the dizzy had to be in a certain way or the car wouldn't run.

I would like to ask if you have the 1966/67 bracket placements for a 383? My car came with out them.
would like to get them on it in the right places. Thanks in advance.
DG.

I actually think that unless you're going for 100% factory correct, the brackets for all the engines are pretty much the same. It's only when you get model specific that they are sometimes in different places.

I bought my brackets at the Nats and according to the instruction sheet, I could pretty much have any arrangement I want to suit my needs.
