questions on 4006452 heads

does anyone know the Head CC for 4006452 heads?

I'm looking for ideas to raise the compression from 8.2 to 9.2 / 9.5 with a street stock set up for a 1972 440 HP.  Boring will be .30 over with flat top pistons and a milder cam.   I believe a stock cast piston will be .162 below deck - don't want to shave the deck too much.

does anyone know some flat top pistons which can be used on a stock 3.75" crank and stock rods to boost the hp?  I know the thin steel head gasket can add some hp.  The guys at 440source suggested the 1971 cast pistons to get to 8.6 compression.

Also, are the valve seats hardened on these for unleaded gas?

The 452 heads will have hardened ex seats for unleaded fuel and usually come in at 88-90cc. The speedpro 2355 pistons are compatible with the stock rods (pressed pin) and will usually sit ~.020 below deck. Compression will be 9.5:1 which is nice for a pump gas combo. The 2355 slugs are forged and very durable.

You're welcome 72se....i would suggest that if you swap out the pistons to have the rotating assembly balanced. The engine will run smoother and rev faster while bearing life will be enhanced. The speedpro slugs are very close to stock in weight so balancing is a simple and inexpensive process for the machine shop. Anything that i've ever had apart gets balanced before reassembly....the improvement is obvious as soon as you fire the engine up and especially when you drop the hammer.

yep, the shop will do a balance job as well

can't wait to pop a refreshed 440 back in the Charger!!
