New site HEADERS - a reminder from a couple of weeks ago for the new guys.

I have absolutely no say in any of this....my input is only from the perspective that Troy has asked me to help with graphics/design. I was kind of hoping to make the site cooler looking and different from D-C.com and I'm hoping to get input from everyone.   I have a good grasp on what colors look good together and have designed many sites in many color variations and combination. I know the above descriptions are pretty vague, but they're a good starting place to get the discussion of look and colors going. if you don't see something you like as a choice then make your own suggestion...

I like what's on here right now, it's easy on the eyes. I forget what site I was on, but they had some kind of contrast like black on purple, & after about 30 seconds I didn't care what the site had to offer, my eyes felt like they were bleeding & it made my hair hurt. I closed it,  had a beer & felt much better throwing gasoline on my face.

I don't care what color it is as long as I don't get that "server not found" message that I get when I try to go to D-C.com. It can be pink and green as long as it's up and running. Well...maybe not pink and green.

Here are some color ideas and header ideas I've come up with. Keep in mind, we still don't have an official name yet, AND Troy gets to approve all color and design ideas with complete veto power. These are only preliminary ideas to get some feedback...

I like the orange (like you couldn't have guessed that...LOL) but I laso like the red, the blue and the black with red. I also like the idea of a BLACK BG color and white text...a new look for a new site. Maybe DARK BLUE BG color with white text. I have to get going right now, but I'll play with some overall look ideas some more later.

Nope, the areas where you type generally stay pretty basic without anything to screw up your eyes. What we need are colors for the outer edges, logos, graphics, buttons, etc. Too be honest, all the current grays blend together on me and this thing is actually pretty difficult to read in the dark.

totally agree. I would like black background with silver/red fonts/buttons. it would be perfect
