What bolt-on upgrades on a stock rebuilt 73 400 would I need to get about 350hp. What would be a good intake, cam, carb, etc...

provide trans, stall speed, rear gear ratio, other modifications done to engine, and how streetable you want it.

Off the top of my head a nice aluminum dual plane intake, 750cfm carb. If you have the means - you can bump compression with a closed chamber head (915 casting)

your cylinder heads are probably going to get thrown away when you have the money... pop them off, take them to a machine shop and ask them how far you can deck the heads.... at worst you will need new pushrods, be out $200 and that would be good for 50+HP depending on how high you can get the static CR :)

So should I try to find some better casting cylinder heads? What cam would somebody reccomend.

as much as it pains me to say, if your going to swap cylinder heads, at this time, until some new ones come out, you really have no excuse to not pick the edelbrock aluminum heads.
I don't have time at this moment to sift through off the shelf cam grinds, but that head swap, and a decent cam, headers, and an intake, you may be able to touch 400 at the flywheel leaving the rest alone...

Don't forget head work, especially if you raise CR will likely cause blowby to the rings causing oil burning and LESS power.

Good luck!

KB240 pistons, mill down heads and metallic gasket.

and if you have a perfect stock TQ thats the better choose you can get IMHO... just if is perfect of course.

So, would some edelbrock heads, a performer rpm intake, and a decent cam get me about 350-400 flywheel hp?

yes, but as far as power for cost... you would be money ahead getting headers as well or in place of the intake.

I'm familiar with the 8-3/4 and dana 60, chevy 10-bolt, chevy 12-bolt, and ford 9" 's torque handling abilities... but nothing else... sounds like a question for another.
The 8-3/4 would easily be able to handle anything you threw at it with 400 hp
