That animal, the palm civet, does not impress me at all.  I could shit out a coffee bean.  Lets see eat some apples and pears and shit out a fruit salad or eat a quarter and shit out 2 dimes and nickel.

you want some links? Here's some links. I do admit I drink coffee at least once a month but I know I shouldn't. Fruit juices, milk, etc are much better for you

http://www.anti-aging-guide.com/41coffee.php

Too much caffeine can produce restlessness, nausea, headache, tense muscles, sleep disturbances, and cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). Because caffeine increases the production of stomach acid it may worsen ulcer symptoms or cause acid reflux ("heartburn"). Evening use of caffeine may disrupt sleep and cause insomnia

The Dark Side

In fact, even if you drink only one cup early in the day, caffeine is still at work on your system hours later. A recent study at the Duke University Medical Center, found that levels of adrenalin and noradrenaline remained elevated at night even when subjects had slurped their last cup of coffee at lunchtime - in effect, mimicking 24-hour stress. And that's not the only charge Haynes levels at the world's second favorite drink, after tea. 'Coffee is an anti-nutrient,' he says. 'It hampers the absorption of essential minerals including iron, magnesium, zinc and potassium, as well as the B vitamins.' So, for example, drinking a cup of coffee while eating a hamburger can reduce the amount of iron you absorb by 40 percent, while zinc absorption is reduced if coffee is drunk within an hour after a meal.

Even more sinister links have been made between coffee and ill health. Various studies have concluded that avid coffee drinkers are more at risk of miscarriage and birth defects, osteoporosis, arthritis and heart disease. So, is our daily cup doing more harm than good?

I hope that you don't drink any alcohol then either Silver; but for those of us who do, coffee has been proven to not only offset alcohol induced cirrhosis, but also improve liver functions in non-drinkers as well. Add that to the heart benefits of a glass or two of red wine a day and you're all good.

This is starting to like like one of those "it is written therefore it is true" brainwash seminars. I drink coffee because I love the stuff, those who don't - I thank you, Just means there is more left for me to drink.

HEY! Save me some.   :D

Here's a local place I go to several times a week to get a cup after lunch. They do mail order by the way.

Been going there for well over 10 years & have yet to get better coffee elsewhere. When the woman who owns it goes on vacation & closes up, I have to make sure I buy a pound before she goes away so I have a supply in stock. Tastes 100 times better than anythig Dunkin' Donuts can make, & has Starbucks beat too.

I like to tell her I had to go to Dunkin' Donuts when she's gone so she gets all ruflled.   :D

Oh, & having a very pretty waitress there doesn't hurt either. The waitress's dad has a mint, '68 Barracuda Formula S fastback.

No, but this is a family site & there's also a chance her dad might venture in here & read something. I also don't need to find out my coffee was poisoned.
