is it possible to take a mig welder with fixed voltage settings and convert it to continous voltage?

Don't really follow your question, but I think migs are constant voltage... if your trying to tig, you need constant amperage. I think thats right, I just use them- not build 'em.

for instance, if you have a lincoln 140 mig welder it has tapped voltage settings (A,B,C,D) can you upgrade it to what continous voltage like a 140C has (A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J)
