Well its been a long weekend. The Charger Fever meet in El Dorado Kansas is over. The Kansas weather got ugly on us after a weeks worth of nice weather being forecasted. It cut loose about 8am and rained hard until about 1pm and then was cold and damp all the rest of Saturday. Sunday morning started out cold and rainy but turned into a warm and sunny day. Despite the bad weather we had 61 Chargers show up this year and as always we had a good time despite the weather.  Good to see everyone again and a big thanks to all that attended!

We will get 2008 information out to you in the next month or so. This weekend was the last year for the show in El Dorado and we are planning on moving it to Hutchinson Kansas in 2008. This will give us a new variety of things to see and do.

Visit here to view all the photos!

i was at the uptown show saturday afternoon....i got to see quite afew of the chargers cruising, and about 12 or so parked with the rest of the cars....i wish i could have been around all weekend!
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

I like this '68 a lot! :drool5: :drool5: :drool5: Love the color combo on it! :yesnod:

That Charger won the Participant's Choice Trophy (Link: http://www.chargerfever.com/eld2007e.htm & http://www.chargerfever.com/eld2007/IM001549.html ), the only award given at the show.  Fresh out of resto shop, the color is the new Dodge Charger "Go Man-Go".

The owner is in the bottom pic in the blue jacket talking on the cell phone.  His name is Rod, and he is the guy from Ozark, MO that restores 68-70 Grilles, and Woodgrain Steering Wheels.

That's MOPARHOUND in the hooded gray sweat shirt trying to stay warm.

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

Yah, one belt keeps things simple.......LOL.  Those power brakes will throw you through the windshield though at less than 20 mph, got to be careful.

The 318/904/8-1/4 combo with 2.71 gears got over 23 MPG running 70-75 MPH on the interstate on the way home.  :2thumbs:

You weren't the only one taking pic's of that mostly original engine bay (some routine maintenance parts have been replaced) from some conversations I had.  Why I finally raised the hood.

Frankie really needs to be tore clear down and put in a rotiss.  Gonna take time and money to do that. I am unsure my garage is tall enough for a rotiss. so things are on hold right now.
