Besides magnumchargers story, The website 69hemi.com also shows the difficulty of the mopar repro sheetmetal.  It is very frustrating when my buddy buys his cheap chevy parts and they fit like a glove whereas our expensive mopar "authentic" stuff requires 30 hrs of body shop modifications to make them fit! Like magnum I thought that these oversights were ironed out by now, obviously not!

Thanks for the tip about the outer wheel house problem documented on 69Hemi.Com... it the exact same #$%@#! crap!  It is starting to look like the currently available outer wheel housings are all from the same tooling, and probably based on Coronet parts which are apparently different.

I am going to find out the truth about these "authentic reproductions"... this isn't close to being over!

Pictures below are from http://www.69hemi.com (in the "sheetmetal" section):

Yes, that article is all true, but it seems like they dont even fit the Coronets to good either. If you look in the Sherman Catalog you'll see they use the same part # on those wheel wells for all B-Body's, A one size fits all Garbage. LEON.

Thanks Brian, I am a bit surprised in the interest in the forum for the recall wheels... $1500/$1575 is a good deal IMO!

It is taking me longer than I expected to  find , resize, and label the "inventory" pictures.  The task may take me another week or so to complete.  My electrician and another friend came over yesterday to do more wiring and shelving in my "new" shop annex, so good progress was made!

Today I will post pictures of the areas of my main concern for missing brackets and wiring retainer straps.  All of these should be common to any 1969 Charger, so please have a look in yours if you have one where these areas are accessable.  This area is the taillight panel and trunk area...  I am only listing items that are likely to have been removed during the extensive body work in the area.  The pictures are from the C500 disassembly and my Y2 Charger R/T project car...

TAILLIGHT PANEL & TRUNK AREA:

TB4,TB5,TB6,TB7 - Interior taillight panel single tab wiring retaining straps

TB10 - Bumper spring mounting bracket

Good comeback Allen, although the fall colors are looking very nice this time of year.

Did you notice the nice cozy carpet in the "man cave".

Thanks,

Another pic showing the front, still have some more work cleaning and decorating to make it the way it should be in there.

Attached are a few current pictures that Greg sent to me... Looks like some wiring retainers are missing, and those present are some sort of universal part.  BTW, all of this is the handiwork of the old bodyshop... not Greg's!

Also, does anyone know of a source for repros of the various wiring retaining straps...?... see the last picture below.

Allen

Edit - CORRECTION on 12/3/2009 @ 5:10 PM CST... I have been told the universal appearing retainers on the driver's side trunk floor extension were on it when it was recieved from AMD... I will look into it and update again...
