Allen, to answer your question of how many of the 11 that I have seen that are 4 speeds its 3. Well in reality its only 2 as I've only seen photo's of your car, not in person. But I have 2 440 4 speed cars listed, as well as 1 HEMI 4 speed B5 blue car.

As far as name goes. Danny's blue sounds good as long as you'd take Danny's red car in a trade.

Started to clean out, clean, & take apart the Charger 500 today.  Here are a few pictures from today.

The floorboards are mostly solid, except for the BIG hole at the driver's feet and some smaller ones at the passenger's feet.  A couple of extra drilled or punched holes on the driver's side...  We will see how the floorboards look after media blasting.

The entire trunk floor is toast!  But, the aero car unique parts appear to be solid... too bad Creative Industries did not fully paint the bottom sides.  Everything will be primed & painted after media blasting!

There appears to be the word "NO" written on the center reflector housing of the driver's side tail light assembly...  :shruggy:

Nice specimen to start off with little rust except for the common trouble areas.Rubber trunk matt trapping moisture takes the trunk and gas tank out .As the wiper pivot leaks and cowl/ windshield leaks took a small toll on the floor areas.Should be a easy resto as compared to as us on east coast.Car needing frame roofs and complete floors and quarters.if you remove the window plug you might fiind remants  of glue and glass left there by the creative conversion. As I found on my old daytona. They didnt paint or treat those areas to well .Slap in the plug and get the car out

So much for my theory that it meant something did not get installed as would be done with a regular Charger...

I have never heard of anything like this on an aero car... or could it be just Charger related?  Anyone every seen this on other Chargers?...  :scratchchin:

Thanks for your reply Jay!

Thanks, I am finding more rust than I expected, but it is very localized for the most part.  If the AMD quarter panels are available in time, the plug will be coming out... makes me a bit nervous, but the bodyman says no problem at all.

A lot of the pictures are the same shot over & over to try to get a perfectly clear one.  This is especially true for the extreme closeups of things like the VIN plate, inspection sticker, VIN body markings, Etc.  Typically I will take about a dozen, of which 2-3 will turn out really well.

The nice thing about digital pictures is that they are practically free once you buy the camera, so wasted shots are no big deal!  :2thumbs:

No pun intended. I hear ya. I probably deleted a lot because like you said sometimes you have to take a bunch to get a good one.

Intersting about the word "ON" or "NO" on your tailight. And you mention that it is on the drivers side one right? Was there anything wrote above the tail light? Just curious because of this photo that I just recently took of an unrestored 500. I'm working on resizing the photo's as I type this, so I'll post them in just a second. Takes a while when they are 10megs a piece.

This was the first time I had ever noticed the words on either tail light, so I have not seen a "YES" on one either. I was assuming it was a "ON", but if there was a "YES" on yours Jay, then it must be a "NO"

69_500

Okay here are two pictures of the tail lights with the word "NO" on them.

Jay, please take a photo of yours with the "YES" on it, that is if you don't mind.

69_500

Allen, your going to need to make a CD of your photo's of your car once your done. I love these types of shots. When I do finally get around to doing something like this on my car, you can bet that I'll probably shoot around 10,000 or so if not more. Heck I shot 493 of a car last weekend, and it wasn't even mine.

The first picture is the piece of the tail panel directly above the tail lights. It was centered over the center tail light, on the driver side, and the two words "NO" lined up with each other. Looks like different hand writing than the one on your car though Allen. At least not as fat of a grease pencil, and one appears to be white, while yours appears Yellow.

I assumed that it was written after the tail light was installed, so it would ne "NO" instead of "ON".  Also, look at the way the "O" is written with it starting and finishing at the top of the letter...

Yes, it is on the driver's side.  I will have to look later if anything else is written in the tail light area...

I'll have to ask some people who have other 69 Chargers that have taken them apart over the years if they have ever noticed this. Last weekend was the first time I had ever seen anything like this. Or at least the first time I noticed it, and took a picture of it.
