Back to the proper thread here, but hoping to see some more from Allens progress.

I have been offline for several weeks due to the illness and passing of my Mom.  I have received new progress pictures from Greg, and will be resizing and posting some later today or in the next few days.

The 500 looks like she's coming along pretty good now. I'm really looking forward to seeing her in my garage soon. Oh sorry did I say that out loud (Actually in print), I meant that I can't wait to see it. Any way I'm glad things are moving forward on the 500 now, she's looking good.

Danny, it is hard to say what percentage had to be redone, it depends if you count dis-assembly & cleaning as "bodywork".  If so, then 50% might be a good guess because most of the dis-assembly was done fairly well.  The record on repair & assembly is not nearly as good, with many problems found... some small and some large so 70% might be about the amount that needed to be redone.  Also, remember that a lot of the labor charges were never explained to me as to what exactly was done during that time... the bodyshop owner only explaining that "thats just how much time was spent working on the car".

Working with Greg (owner of the new bodyshop) has been COMPLETELY different, he has been absolutely great to work with!!!  Below are new pictures that I received from Greg yesterday showing the application of the Rust Bullet barrier and seal sealer on the interior floorboards.

No, the fitment of the wheelhouse was due to the incorrect repro part sold by Goodmark Industries.  The problem has been known of and documented for several years, but Goodmark continues to sell the junk.  The bodyshop owner assured me that he had thoroughly compared the repro wheelhouse before starting to remove the original, so the extra labor cost & use of another dedicated part was due to his incompetence...

Been a while since I've been on here and I'm extremely sorry to hear about your mother - in the time that I've been away, my grandmother (Georgie Vasut) also passed away - she developed ovarian cancer towards the end of last year and it ramped up to stage 4 status quickly and swiftly took her life - it was a blessing however that she did pass so quickly because she was definitely starting to suffer... like your mother, I'm sure, she'll definitely be missed...

Sorry to bring the mood down even further - on a positive note, it looks like BOTH of our projects are picking up steam and look to be headed in the right direction - keep up the good work...

Tua, Kaitlyn and I hope you are doing well.  I hope you inherited her longevity.  I do not expect to make it that long.  I like the way the new shop is proceeding on the Charger (getting the rust removed and primered right away).  Hope you get that blue GTX; I have not seen that car or the house in the background since the 80s.  It brings back memories; I think I can remember that day.

Thanks Brandon, and sorry to hear about your Grandmother.  We are losing the few remaining people from "the greatest generation" at a rapid rate.

Glad to hear things are also going well at your new shop.  A friend of mine was at the shop in January and saw your car in work.

Thanks Bob, I hope that I make it to at least 86 as well... even if I do, I still have too many projects to finish!  A 1969-1970 Plymouth B-Body convertible is still on my wish list though, and I would try to get the GTX if it is ever sold...

Greg at the new body shop has been great to work with.  I need to send him some parts like the wheel opening mouldings to get hole patterns from prior to final blocking & painting of the C500.

That was quite a trip we took back in 1982 to the CCCC national meet in St Louis.  I need to scan the hundreds of pictures from the trip and post them online, but do not have the time now...

Its a ceiling fan which was in the garage when I bought the house.  I damaged a blade on it several years ago when I carried something into it while it was running... still on my "to do" list to fix. 

BTW, have you spotted the Boss Mustang spoiler yet... D0ZB 6344226 ... ?
