I thought that might get a reaction from you...  looks like the highs out your way are going to be in the single digits today... 

The little blue area on the C500 is now shiney.  Attached are new photos showing the color sanding, buffing and polishing process on the Dutchman panel.  Also included are photos of the plug perimeter support strips being installed.

Attached are the remainder of the photos including the plug welding process.  If you look closely at the photo of the left side of the plug welding, you can see the marks for the "Charger" emblem.

Pluggin' away at getting the lead in... 

Here are the latest progress pictures from Greg... with a description from his Email

Attached are photos showing the rear plug leading process.  The first and second photos show the M.I.G. tack welds after they were ground level with the plug and surrounding body metal surfaces (quarter panel sail panels and roof panel).   The third and fourth photos show the initial lead application.

Photo number 1 shows the lead after application, while numbers 2 and 3 show the lead being filed and sanded smooth after application.  There are differing opinions regarding the use of lead due to the heat and an open flame (especially critical in the plug installation due to the opening between the plug and the surrounding metal areas.)  Because of the support strips on the rear plug, there is a barrier for heat and open flame to the inner painted surfaces.  Additionally, the leaded joints will have a tensile strength in excess of 7000 psi which makes lead the best choice for the final plug bonding process especially when followed by application of a quality metal reinforced surface filler.

Photo number 4 is showing the application of the Fiberglass Evercoat Metal to Metal Surface filler application.  This step filled in the low areas surrounding the lead joints, while providing strength and a barrier coat to the lead from the paint surface.

No, i am still around...    but have been busy with work and family business.

While I did not drop off the face of the Earth, I have been snowed in several times... including by the "Great North Texas Blizzard of 010"... 14.4 inches in one day.  The back of one of my Polaras even had an avalanche... lost electric power for most of a day, and almost had to open a can of Spam to eat.

Hey who ever said that detail photos are boring? Whoever that was I would be afraid to let them sift through my stacks of photographs. Because I think that 70% if not more of my total photo's that I have are detail photo's. I personally like them.

Car is coming along very nicely Allen. Can't wait for the day that you finish it up so that I can check it out and take ton's of pictures of my own of it.
