Horses For Courses: What are your Vehicles for?..

Seems most folks here have multiple vehicles, everything from dirt bikes and ATVs to large numbers of project cars and boats...
I'm thinking about this alot,  :scratchchin: trying to justify the costs of maintaing a large number of Vehicles...  :shruggy:

Stock 1999 Chrysler 300 M:  - grocery getter, economical, comfortable, stealthy, Daily Short long distance transport.

Modded Dodge Charger R/T S.E, Tinker Toy, Show Car, Drag Racer, Dream Car Attained.

Stock 1971 340 Plymouth Road Runner - Fun sometimes daily Driver,

Stock 1978 Dodge Chinook 13/4 ton Dually R.V. - Camper, Tow Vehicle.

I still want and will probably get a small birt bike...
now i wish i hadn't sold my Cherry Yamaha 250...   :RantExplode:

02 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer - wife's daily driver/occassional tow vehicle
69 Dodge Charger project car - two-car garage consumer (and some)
71 New Yorker - almost done land yacht for sunny day asphalt sailing

I'll need something for my daughter to drive next year....

I'm not much for recreational vehicles of any sorts... The nearest lake is Lake Ontario and while you can squirt around the shore in anything, you need something substantial to head out into the open. I don't have the cash, time, or room for something like that. Not too interested in trail riding around here.. and thatere's that cash, time, room issue again.

1968 R/T Charger.....just took it apart cause I wasn't driving it....didn't drive much because of next car below :icon_smile_big:

1931 Ford Model A pickup, hot 350 SBC.....my Hotrod....drive it any chance I get. TOO much FUN! Loud, rough, obnoxious, it's perfect! It's what I usually drive if I go to shows w/o my wife/kids.....

1978 Chevy shortbox lowrider, 454.....REALLY nice, was my stepdads truck, he was killed last year....I use it to run around, get parts, etc....

1969 Chevy 1/2T Suburban 4x4....wife's rig, no motor. Gonna lift it 6" with 35's and be the family tow rig to haul MORE cars home with!.

1999 Suburban...wife's daily....only "new" car I own......and probably the last as well....I don't like new cars.... ::)

1928 Ford Model A sedan.....strictly a project now.....was going to do an early 60's show/drag car, lots of chrome, white wall slicks on E-T mags, etc.....but may sell now to use the $$$$ towards the Charger....

Currently looking for an old car for my wife to replace the 1999 rig.....'66/'67 Chevelle hardtop or station wagon, Impala, etc....something early-mid 60's and can fit the family.....

All my cars are gas-guzzlers too......there's more to life than MPG! :nana: And NONE of 'em go anywhere on a trailer...........
That's not all......also building a hotrod for my father-in-law......I definitely have too much on my plate......

I had a sandrail, quads, dirtbikes, etc....but never had the time to go ride.....once my son is older, I'll get back into riding. :2thumbs:

1997 Mercury Mystique – Daily Driver (24 mpg)
1968 Charger – Weekend driver (8 mpg), sometimes to work when I can offset the price of gas with vehicle #1
1969 Charger 500 - /6 roadtrip car, (22 mpg)

I sold my daily driver, which was the 1995 Ford F-150, so right now I'm driving my 2004 Dodge Ram. I bought the Ram to use mostly as a tow vehicle only, but the Ford was starting to show it's age. The cost over the next year to maintain it would've taken a big bite out of whatever funds I wanted to put into my older cars. My wife has her vehicle, a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor, as her daily driver. We also use that to go places if we aren't camping & towing since it's a V6 & not a V8 Hemi. All the older cars I have, have various purposes, but mostly they're just 1:1 scale toys.

1968 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible..... It was going to be the base car in my Charger convertible project, but for several reasons, I changed my mind on doing that. I then planned on making it a nice cruiser, but I have other projects that need less work & they interest me more than this one. I'm still not sure what I'll do with it, but probably sell it.

1968 Charger..... It was going to be the other part of the Charger convertible project, but it was too solid to cut up, & now it's going to be a Daytona. I have just about all the parts for it, but it's still on a waiting list. I'll use it to go to shows & cruises in, but not to compete for a trophy. It'll have a mild 440 & a few other upgrades, but nothing radical.

1969 Plymouth Satellite Convertible..... This car I've had for more than half my life & it used to be my daily driver when I first got it in 1984. There's no way I'm ever parting with it, so for right now I drive it occasionally until I decide to take it apart to restore it. If anything, I'll modify the 318 with a bigger cam & a 4bbl & make some suspension upgrades.

1970 Plymouth Road Runner Coupe..... It's not stock, it's not original, it's not numbers matching, & it's not done. With a 4 speed & a 440 that has 11.5:1 pistons, I don't know what it's going to be like to drive. I will probably beat on it to have some fun since I haven't had a high performance car in ages. I'll trailer it to the drag strip to see what it'll do.

1971 Plymouth Scamp..... I've owned this one since 1988, & it too, was a daily driver when I first got it. I'm almost done with some upgrades on it, & will drive it on nice days to work, cruises & shows. I may actually sell it in the near future to free up some money to put into the Charger or the Satellite, or maybe even the Barracuda collecting dust.

1971 Barracuda..... I've always wanted one, but could never afford, or find one when I was hunting for a car to drive years ago. When the prices got totally insane, I decided I better at least find a project before I could never afford that either. When I had read that quarters, fenders, grilles, & more were being made, I snagged one knowing it'll be a back burner project that'll be years before I ever get to it.

2004 Load Trail Car Trailer..... I borrowed a trailer a couple of times & decided that I definitely needed something to drag my cars around. I hated the idea of having some tow truck driver bring one of my cars somewhere, like to a body shop, or wherever else. You never know how it's going to be cared, or not cared for. Besides, I want to go to the drag strip & not worry about getting home if I break something.

2005 Coachmen Travel Trailer..... This has gotten way more use than my car trailer or any of my cars. It's for the whole family to go camping with. We use it on average at least twice a month between April & October, sometimes more. I've taken it to Carlisle, & have taken the older trailer I had to the Mopar Nationals. Since hotels are averaging anywhere from $75 to $195 per night, this is dirt cheap in comparison. My wife also goes to 3 or 4 Bluegrass festivals every year, so to have a trailer instead of a tent makes it 100 times more enjoyable.

I don't have any ATV's or birt bikes, but I do have lots of Matchbox & dicast.   :D

Well lets see...
1964 Galaxie 500 named Teeth, for sitting in my driveway for long periods of time until I get bored and go for a cruise. It is all stock down to the dog dish caps and it just turned 100k original and is in fine shape. Second is my daily, a 1985 (first year made) Toyota 4Runner with 226k and a 22RE mill that you could not kill with a howitzer. And last but not least is of course my 68 R/T that is patiently waiting in my garage for me to earn some scrilla so's I can toss some at it. I refuse to smear bondo on it and it knows that. As far as two-wheeled toys, I have a 1966 Bianchi (looks like a Vespa) that is also called a Riverside - remember those? They were imported from Italy and sold by Monkey Wards back in the day. I also am a bicycle freak and have too many to list, but my 1968 Stingray five-speed (with top tube shifter) is by far the coolest and is in fantastic shape. And the coolest thing about all this is that my girlfriend understands.

1968 Dodge Charger project car.
thats it for now but i,m looking for a good Demon or Duster to add to the collection soon.

Ghoste

I love pretty much anything with an engine but budget constraints limit me to the 67 Charger for a toy and a 2000 Caravan for a daily driver.  She who must be obeyed finally dumped the Tore-us and pulled the trigger on a new Nitro so the driveway is all Dodge now.
Doing my side gig for RM has allowed me the opportunity to sample an enormous variety of vehicles I'll never own so that somewhat eases the lack of toys.

Brock Samson

Ghoste is that RM auto autions?.. did ya see my thread on their montery aution a few weeks ago?...

i see three of us have chrysler 300 Ms... Cool.. great cars and cheap too... you should all go out and get one to add to your fleets...

I notice some of you posted MPG for most of your vehicles... i was am more concerned on how you justify them or why you have them..
