if he lists another one, he better be state whether he wants to ship it or not.  thats all he did this morning is complain about not wanting to ship it.  He does have some decent 69 charger doors and hoods btw.  His place is a mess mostly full of old 50s sheetmetal. and stuff.   Anyway, dont worry nacho, Its safe in the barn and I aint gonna touch it again until you tell me to meet your moparts friend to pass it off to him.  I guess we are running a relay with it

Anyway, tipically passnger sides are harder to come by. Last one got $1400. But to be honored to the truth was INMACULATE conditions, absolutelly 0 rust, not even surface. I have pics around.

okay, will do, its not heavy its just bulky and it'll have to go fedex freight or ups frieght just due to the size of it, so its gonna be expenxive, very expensive, around 350 bucks if i remember right.  then comes the problem of packaging and stuff thatll add wieght to it.  plus the cost of materials, man i dont envy you on paying for the shipppin of this monster

My yearone quarter was in a box that was like 8ft. long. and 3ft. high. so finding a box is gonna be fun. When I used to sell a ot of NOS panels I made a crate.........yeah heavier but you didn't get claims on a $1000 panel. Shipping has went up since the Bushwacker era.

Try a mattress box for king size, or queen size bed go to a moving co. and buy one.

I used Greyhound a lot for panels. The last one was a front Challenger fender in a 2X4 crate last year and it was like 120 bucks from Kansas to Cali.(2000 miles)

its just shy of being 8, i nearly fills my 8ft truck bed, so its roughly 7 ft, 4 inches long and probably a good 3ft high if not more

I've found some really big boxes at collision body shops. Really big. If nothing else you can tape a couple boxes together to make it work. Making a crate for it will probably jack up the shipping price. But, at least you finally have it in friendly hands.

I live in Springfield, Illinois and work for Fedex Ground. I know I would not be able to ship via Fedex Ground on this item but I am pretty sure I can get that shipped via freight at a decent discount.

Let me know the dimensions. I am assuming that this packaging would be about 8' x 4' x 12". Also, what would the weight be? The quarter could be sandwiched between 2 sheets of 7/16" plywood with wood reinforcements.

Shipping would not be the issue here. Getting the part to me in Springfield, Illinois would be the issue.

Id take it to him nacho, but springfield is one heck of a drive from me, almost 5 hours one way from me, i simply dont have time too drive that far.  I am willing to get whatever materials you want it shipped in as long as you pay for them.  Take your time, make sure you explore all options, the quarter is safe in my barn, locked up and i have the only two keys.    i will be awaiting for instructions

I had used them before for large crates & never had them refuse me due to the size. Look at the crate in the photo, that one was sent from NY to CA by DHL for $125 just 2 years ago. It's approximately 2' high, by 2' feet wide, by 7 feet long & 125 pounds.

That's what I'm talking about. That's how I always have done it. Just a big box is for companys that have stock and don't care it it get's damaged or not. I would hate to put out a bunch of cash then file a claim.......yeah takes lot's of time and you still have a damaged piece

Anytime I sold something expensive, or very fragile, it went in a crate without a second thought. Been doing this since high school, roughly 27 years, & in all those years of packing artwork, antiques, & car parts, I have never had anything damaged. I know first hand how the freight is handled & make sure that what I ship will survive. Sometimes packing materials & lumber can be expensive, but sometimes it's cheap insurance. Household rental stores that have TV's & furniture for rent, are a great source for large cardboard, foam, boxes, & more.

That grille in the photo was one I had bought, not sold & shipped. I talked to the seller who had damage issues in the past, & I determined it was mostly due to the fact that it was a very large & fragile piece that should have been packed differently. I built the crate, filled it with packing materials, instructions on how to wrap & place it, & shipped it to the seller. He packed it the way I wanted it done & sent it back in perfect shape. It made things easy for him too.

His crating fee would have been $40, but this crate with styrofoam packing pellets, foam rubber & tape, cost me about $100. The shipping for it was double, but it was worth it to me to get the grille undamaged. To get the grille repaired or to even ship it back if it was damaged would be a huge hassle I would rather not deal with. I spent an extra $185 in total for the packing, crate & shipping on a $600 grille, but it was still cheaper than a repair or a return & a better piece of mind.

Remember, what ever package that is light enough to throw will be thrown, whatever package that is labeled fragile will be dropped, & if you pay extra for insurance on the item, it won't be covered.
