Oddly enough they have a '71 Imp on the list.

"The glamorous Imperial marque was, by the late '60s, reduced to a trashy, pseudo-luxury harlot walking the streets for its pimp, the Chrysler Corporation. By 1971, only the Imperial LeBaron was left and it shared the monstrous slab-sided "fuselage" styling of corporate siblings like the Chrysler New Yorker and the Dodge Monaco. Appearing to have been hewn from solid blocks of mediocrity, the Imperial LeBaron two-door is memorable for having some of the longest fenders in history. It was powered by Chrysler's silly-big 440-cu.-in. V8 and measured over 19 ft. long. The interior looked like a third-world casino. Here we are approaching the nadir of American car building — obese, under-engineered, horribly ugly. Or, it would be the nadir, except for the abysmal 1980 Chrysler Imperial, which had an engine cursed by God. The Imperial name was finally overthrown in 1983. "

Soooooooo...............this whole 'worst' list seems to be compiled by someones personal tastes..........or lack there of. Oddly enough the Japanese have never built a bad car...ever. ::)

what a crackhead. the few that stood out that shouldn't be there.... 1. the 1981 delorean 2. 1997 plymouth prowler 3. most disturbing the 1995 ford explorer. one of the best sellingbody styles in history, but it makes top 50 worst because of his personal distaste in bigger automobiles.. (obvious by his ridicule of the imperial, explorer, excursion, Hummer H2 etc). what a moron.. i bet he drives a prius

bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

It appears that his bias towards ANYTHING to evolved into ANY TYPE of fuel consumption, or pollution is BAD, irregardless of what it did for the economy or what the buyers thought.  I get a kick out of Chryslers "silly" 440.

Selling a lot of units does not make a great car. I'm not sure how many Aerostars with A4LD transmissions were made, but it was a heck of a lot. For the time I owned one of those crap boxes and the ridiculous input of money required to keep it driveable, I finally got a recall notice for the one part that never gave me a lick of trouble... the ignition switch. I figure they must have needed to replace it with one designed to fail every third week like everything else on that mechanical  butt brick.

Oh, I thought this was going to be another HLPAG thread.

pettybird

it's an abortion of an article.

to qualify something as 'worst,' you USUALLY set out some criteria.  build quality, sales, design, reliability...  this guy threw together a list of 50 cars that he didn't like.

i want the 8 minutes I spent on it back.

and the oh-so-big 440 was the smallest engine you could get in a 1971 tank!  BOP 455's, caddy 500's, ford/linc/merc 460's...

I agree.  Every one of the articles I read had more of a flavor of "it's an automobile that uses fuel and polutes."  Very obviously a tree hugger who doesn't have a clue about cars or their significance.  Did you read what he said about the Ford Model T?  Mass production of these cars and subsequently all others led us to our current situation of using too much fuel, and causing too much pollution.   Then calls the car the "yugo" of it's time.  Quite a statement, considering that every other car built had the same issues...........because they were the first cars!!!

He blasts the Chrysler Airflow simply because the styling was introduced 20 years too early.   Certainly it looked very different from everything else on the market back then, and probably was 20 years too early.  That didn't make it a bad car.

This guy doesn't know shit about cars......there are great cars in that list....

I see for example a Lambo LM 002 (jeep) standing there... These thays here in Europe the streets are paved with BMW' X5 series or Audi Q7's  or ML Benz'es.
The Lambo was almost the same car but only 20 years earlier so then wy was it bad in 1986 and why are the modern SUV's OK?
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

375instroke

The author can't be that much of a tree hugger.  Did you see what he said about the Camaro and Corvette?  There is some pretty funny stuff in there.  Wonder if it's the same guy that wrote Crap Car?  By the way, when was the last time you were looking to buy a '71 LeBaron?  Got that one in your favorite searches on eBay, right.  Have a little thicker skin.  If more people hated Mopars we wouldn't have to pay these rediculous prices for the cars we love.

I'd like to have an Imperial Lebaron...just because. :icon_smile_big:

That's it, I'm off to search one out.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Reading the list just helps keep him employed.  The hits on the site are seen as proof that he's needed.
