$8k? $9k?

Thats pretty cool, but aside from the NASCAR style modifcations they did to it, it looks more or less just like a paint job on a car that was in fair condition before.  The engine bay looks nice too, but the interior isn't that great.  I'd say your price guess in about what its worth.  Definately not worth what they're asking.

I thought that was a plastic/die-cast model when I first looked at the shot.

The car's cool, but I can't understand a NASCAR replica that has cut wheelwells in the front fenders and yet there's not a single rollbar anywhere.

I like it but it should have a rollcage and the motor could use a little more detail for a nascar replica.

i thought nascar exhaust like that exited from the passenger side...
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

:shruggy: strange picking the wrong yr to do all that work to,.. great pictures of the same stuff over and over. no info. really onm the car just a rehash of The King's record,.. a cleaned firewall,.. why?.. no trunk shots,.. like the fuel filler, but does it work?.. that interior is a joke... i guess if ya wanted a toy and were gonna spend an equal amount of money to fix and change stuff it obviouly needs, it might be ok... then it would cost 40 K... no thanks.. I was thinkin it would make a cool daily from the first shot, but lookin at it,.. i say no way...
anyone use STP?..  :smilielol: they should buy it..

runninhorn

do yall know of any other replicas for sale currently in better shape than that car?

They are actually pretty cheap to do.  No nos this or that, way less yearone parts.  I'm working on this one now.  360 w2 headed will be 4 spd.

I agree.  It's just a paintjob.  They didn't do anything else special with the car.  It's just a basic 3rd gen with a fancy paint job that they want too much money for.

Well I bought it for $20k
Now it´s in the middle of the atlantic sea on it´s way to Norway.
I also have a 1993 Ford Escort Cosworth 4x4
and a 1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that is just back from the paintshop.
That was a bit of topic, but kind of my way to introduce myself.

I could understand it, if they had put bigger wheels and tires on it. Yea, I think they should have done more with the interior. Perhaps a street-functional NASCAR replica in there too. If I ever own a third gen it will look like one of these.

Cars over here will start getting more rare if they keep going overseas and up north.  I have an Aussie mate really interested in my Chally.  Years back my Bee went over there too and my Harley to Japan.

Mike DC

I fail to worry about losing our old cars to overseas customers.  We'd have to be shipping a hell of a lot more of them away before the numbers would get important.

69charger2002

i think the amount of quality cars going overseas is worthy of recognition.. they USUALLY get nicer cars, because if they're gonna pay $3k to ship across the pond, they may as well make the car worth it. i myself have shipped 6 chargers overseas.. mostly from ebay. and at least that many have gone to canada. there are a lot more going overseas than you think.. i am positive of that

Yeah, folks overseas don't have quite the passion for DOH cars like stateside so I could see it not affecting you.

Funny how they want our cars but hate us .I won't sell anything out of the U.S. maybe Canada .

Not everyone hates the US and Chrysler was willing to sell these cars overseas when they were new (although hardly anyone wanted one) so there shouldn't be too many hangups about selling cars overseas.  Good taste isn't limited to the North American continent.  Besides, some of them do come back and given the expense and impracticality (you think we have problems getting parts and justifying fuel costs?), I don't think that many are really going over there.  Could be wrong though.  :shruggy:

tecmopar

When I sold the '68 at Garlit's 2 years ago I didn't even get backed all the way in to the parking spot when Galen Govier was all over it and a gentleman from Germany. I actually had to ask them to move so I could open the door and get out. Well anyway, the nice part for me was that they got into a bidding war right there and I didn't care where it went, north to Wisconsin or east to Germany as I let them keep going. Turns out that GG was on the phone with the owner of Muscle Car Restorations so he was going on GG's description of the car but when the "out of towner" said I was being biased and he thought this might be a shill game he pissed me off so MCR got the car for way more then I was going to ask. As far as the 3rd gen. Petty car, I think they are pretty cool and like someone stated earlier it would be rather inexpensive to build one because of the lack of NOS parts, chrome, interior and so forth. I'd probably have more $ in the motor then anywhere else, just start with a stripped body and go from there, plus It would be neat to show up at some car shows with it because everyone knows the 43 car.

Why do you think that?

Looks cool outside but the interior should be gutted and add a cage and racing seat.
