what you read... I would love to know some electrical Trains fans... specifically Märklin brand, HO gauge.

Old Moparz

I never had Marklin, but had Tyco & Atlas. I recall another German brand that was nice, forget the name, but also very expensive. I still have all of my trains & scenery & now that my daughter is older, (she's 8 now) I will probably take them out to set them up. None are too old, only as far back as the early 1970's.

Oh yeah, $12,000+ is a bit high for a toy train.

I love Märklin... I have had Lima and Fleischman trains... Good but definitelly is not the same. I would wish to get complete wagon combos. Have around 30 wagons but no one in a Combo. I already have 14 locomotives, one of them smoking.

Shame they are the old school, what are hard to design. Now with digital and Delta versions, you don't need to section the train rails on parts... Locomotives are simply coded and info goes thougth power MODULATED to control the specific locomotive you want.

my grand father built a huge markiln train set befroe he did, its about 35 feet long and 8 feet wide in the basement, made it look like the german country side, still together and runs too.  I also have a HO train setup that ive beeen working on for abotu 18months now, and its just coming together, ill take pics and post on here later.  Its a combo of several diffetn companies, Athearn, Atlas, Bachman, markin, you name it, i bought it piece by piece and it has cost me almost as much as my charger.

I have a few Marklin, Riverossi and Fleishman locos stuffed away in a box that my father bought back in the early 70s. Ive been building an HO setup down in the basement for my son who is 5. He handles the stuff very well for his age but I figure I will wait till hes a little older for those. I have mostly Athearn and some Atlas engines. The Athearn stuff has come a long way since I was a kid. I think something like this would be cool but a ways out of my budget.
