Just curious to see what the performance stats on your Chargers are.

Hemidoug

OK, I'll bite...542@6500RPM on  the engine dyno..  Close to if not 600 now in the car. 0-60 never timed it. 1/4 is waiting for the rest of the car to get dialed in...if I had to guess judging by past experience somewhere in the 11s.....

Turned 12.5s @ 119 MPH with my 71 way back when...the 69 runs MUCH stronger then that did!
71 R/T 440 6pak, 4spd Mr Norms GSD

70sixpkrt

491hp at 5500rpm and still climbing with 535tq. With street tires, 13.01 at 107.93

440-6pk, 4-speed, Dana 60 with 3:54
13.01 @107.93 (street tires spinning all the way down)

Mefirst

13.000 sec flat with a busted up 440 engine.. The 440 was dynoed 542.5Hp @ 5900Rpm and 555 FpTQ @ 4800Rpm

Later when I opened up the 440 I found 7 piston pins stuck to the rods, al 8 cylinders busted, one intake lobe on the cam missing and about 3 pounds of metall shavings in the oil pan :flame: .. Then again try to run 13 sec flat with an equally busted up Chevy/Ford engine, that will never happen...

The 440 engine should have theoretically powered my Charger down the track close to a mid 11sec time... Now I have a Hemi, with that engine I should be able to hit mid to high 10sec 1/4mile time slips :D

You have the power to run high 12's....102mph is 12.80-12.90 range but the 60ft times are hurting the elapsed times.  ;)

13.5's @105mph was my best w/ a 4000lb car/driver--3:55's--727 w/TG-2 kit--28" street radials--mild 440 w/e-brock RPM, Hooker Comp. 1 7/8' headers, Holley 750 DP, Mallory Unilite ignition,  TRW Flattops, Erson 101 cam, Motorhome converter (about 300 rpm over stock).  Lousy 60 foot times of 2.2 &2.3's.  I'm hoping to add some more HP over the winter and a better converter.  When I had a chassis dyno done, it only came up with 270 RWHP.  The next morning I ran the 105 mph!  I would guess the MPH would indicate much more HP than what the dyno did. It was 100+ degrees during the dyno and about 75 degrees at the track, so that must have played into it.  Bob

Thanks Ron I know traction is a big part.  More seat time will net me better 60ft times.   My 60ft on that run was a 2.095.   I really have to feather the car off the line.  If I bury the pedal I go up in smoke real fast.  Rolling out & then nailing it netted me that time

Mike, whenever i see those numbers from your car i'm allways impressed....it runs hard for being such a basic combo.  :2thumbs:

The Moroso slide is showing ~510hp for 3800@119 mph. Your online calculator is slightly conservative (compared to the Moroso slide) at 493hp. They're both probably pretty close to the real hp number, inmo.

The Moroso slide rule is a neat tool and seems to be pretty accurate if the combo is well sorted out....which your's is.  :2thumbs:

The HP vs ET #'s seem to correlate very well with Dwaynes dyno, so based on the weight and trap speed it's safe to say you would be making right at 500 if not slightly more on his Superflo.  ;)

well, my current charger is zip, but my old 71, which i still have but is now just collecting dust, was:

12.17 at 109 mph, 1.77 60 ft

I played around with a Dyno program, not that I'm convinced the program tells the whole truth. Anyways, the dyno program claimed that my Hemi should be good for 720HP at the crank... :o That would result a theoretical 1/4mile time slip around 10.2 sec and a 1/4 mile trap speed at about 130Mph :shruggy: Remains to be proven.... Ill be happy if I can get a timslip thats under 11sec...

Would be nice to know gear ratio from posts ! I just sold my 472 hemi , now building a 528 -11-1 alum head Hemi , should be 700 hp , what should it run in the  1/4 with a tremic 5 speed and 355 gear ?11's ???

68charger383

I just had my 383/727 with 323s in the dyno, it came back with only 225 RWHP.

Anyone know what the HP at the flywheel and estimated 1/4 would be? I guess car with driver would be about 3,800 lbs.

I was planning on going to the strip for a few passes, but I think that would be a 14-15 second pass with that HP score at my best.

Hey keepat,,    i noticed that your car doesnt have an 8 point bar or a roll cage ( at least i couldnt see if there was one)  but just curious does the car handle the torque of that motor pretty good ?  is there a lot of twist on the body??

No roll cage all stock inside and with street tires theres no bite! That will change next spring with some 10" slicks as for the body twist it should be OK with a automatic trans.

I was hoping to find out before the cold weather hit, the 517 Low Deck with 12:1 a big roller and 380cfm Chapamn CNC heads, and a 1000cfm Pro-systems carb it should make an easy 710 or more at the crank.

With a 2300 stall 446, it went 12.30's @ 111, I know I've got well more than enough HP to go 10's we'll see if she can hook with the 9 1/2" PTC about 4300 flash and the 3.54 dana.
