I'm thinking about replacing my leaf springs in my 68 charger but remember hearing horror stories about some repro's out there. Who makes the best ones that last?

If I was doing it again, I'd get them done by one of the dedicated spring places.  (Detroit spring, etc.)  They're not THAT much more money than buying a set from a typical Mopar parts seller, and they're custom-made to your specs.

Have had a set of Eaton Detroit springs in my car for the last few years now and I'm happy with them.

Had a set made for my '64 Belvedere at St. Louis Spring Co.    They put 6 leaves in each side and made them with 2" extra arch at my request.  Gave the Belvedere a good looking stance.

anyone know what it costs (approximately) to re-arch the exising springs?
I'd like to get about 1 to 2" of lift in the back.
Here's how it sits now...

Update:

I bought a really nice set of springs from McVeighs Truck Springs, Inc on Ebay.
These look really nice and are 6 leaf, mine also have a 3" lift (see pics) with bushings installed.
Anyway I think these are a good deal, they fit great and give my car a nice stout look. Hopefully it stays that way.

heres the top of rear wheel well height before...
its hard to see but its at 26"

1BAD68

and after...
a nice 3" lift

this is the old spring and new one side by side...

1BAD68

what a difference...
Now I just need to road test them to see how they feel.

1BAD68

back from road test, these are really nice springs.
The ride is firm but not pounding, takes hard bumps comfortably.
Something I noticed... before my cars steering felt like it was overpowered and sort of wandered over hard bumps. Now it feels like I have a firm feel box installed and even going over railroad tracks it just stays straight. It made a difference in handling also, going around tight curves and windy roads the car just locks in and doesnt seem to have much body roll anymore.
The springs settled almost 3/4 inch after the test drive but are still up nice and high. Hopefully they will stay up there for a few years at least.
