What should I look at when in the scrap yard if I want somewhere between 3.55 and 4.10 gears that will fit in a 1968 plymouth 8 3/4 rear? And please no RR R/Ts GTX Super Bee stuff.... long gone! I was told slant 6 cars W 8 3/4s? anyone? Thanks

I was told the d100 and d200 trucks and vans.

ya trucks and vans are your best bet. Look for a service van, those often had higher gears since they were designed mostly for in town driving.

if you can find ex-government or military fleet trucks from the mid 60's most of them got sure grips...thats where i got my 3.91 sure grip...ex "department of agriculture" truck that i picked up for 100 bucks and some spare parts i had laying around...
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

Look aroud for a station wagons most came with big blocks and 8 3/4 rears.

yes most all Vans and trucks, I got a 3:91 out of a van BUT it was open (who gets an "open" 3:91?) just watch out for sure grip, thats the REAL issue
