Call up Summitt Racing and ask them what type of cam to get. What I would do is buy a 318 tunnel ram(edelbrock intake), and then get a 750 cfm Holley Double pumber carb. Then call Summit to ask what cam to put in. Thats exactly what I did to my 73 Charger. You need to build the car so all your performance matches. Do you want a highway gear or a streetlight gear? I have a 73 with a 440. I am going to put 391 or 410 cause i like to heat the streets. You can find that carb on ebay for about $50, and the intake as well.

I don't think Edelbrock makes a tunnel ram for the 318, but even if they do, I don't think a tunnel ram and a double pumper are going to give you anything but headaches on an otherwise stock 318. You would likely be much more happy with an Edelbrock Performer series dual-plane and probably nothing much larger than a 650 for drivability. Put some dual exhaust on it and you should be happy with the performance. Consider the complete Edelbrock "power package."

On a 318 unless you change the heads it wont matter what cam you use you wont see any change in performance You have to remember an engine is nothing but a big air pump.A 4 barrel and headers will give you an upgrade but unless you change the heads you wont see much change.I would look around the bone yard for a set of 302 heads off a 80's 318 or look for a set of 360 heads.
