Took my car out!

Well. We finished up with the new hydraulic lifters and adjustable rocker arms today and decided to take it out. We literally started it up for the first time, let it warm up, let it run with a good 1500 rpm for a little while, clamped the roof down with some C clamps and headed out. Well without a windshield it was hard to really hear what was going on at all and once we got up to speed we started getting bombarded with metal shavings from the grinder that were left on the dash. It wasn't very fun...I had to keep my eyes almost closed and couldn't hear the car at all. It sounds WAY less radical than it did before, but it will run much better now. When I got turned around I nailed it...I couldn't really hear much or see much so I'm not sure how it was performing. After that I encountered a strange problem though (I'll have a question in the engine section) I would hold my foot steady on the gas and the engine would surge, like I was pushing the gas then letting off, pushing the gas then letting off, pushing the gas then letting off etc... So now its driveable, but it needs a lot of tuning. I'm going to get the roof welded on tommorow or the next day by a guy that does free lance hot rod building out of his house...its nice cause he lives 2 minutes away from me. Anyways just thought I'd share some of my excitement. I'll have a video of the car at idle a little later on.

This is a joke right?
