Where can I get outside mirror retaining clip for the door?

I need the clip or whatever it is that holds the plate on the inside of the driver's door on my 73 for the remote chrome mirror. Year One says they have been discontinued and no longer will carry them. Where can I get it? I've checked original part number and no one has it.

never have seen it... I got and used one, still not mounted.

There are nuts of that size, is what I have right now... a nut similar to the selftaping nuts but to threated stuff

This holds the mirror plate on so that the outside mirror screws can screw in. I can't really see what holds the plate on. But in the year one catalog it shows a clip.

yes is a plastic clip T shaped
