That's cool Cody. You'll be able to make some real progress with that.   :yesnod:

I need some help ASAP please. I'm going tomorrow at Lunch to start sandblasting. Here's what I've found so far. Couple of questions, how do you get the 'Brake Release' handle off the parking brake? Also, is all this stuff sandblastable? I have....

-Misc Brackets
-Battery Tray
-Headlight buckets
-Parts of the headlight door actuators
-Window track?
-Horn
-Bumper Brackets

You should be able to blast that stuff but I would tape up the horn so you do not fill it with sand and watch the terminals. When you say blast do you mean using a sandblast cabinet? That would be better for the lighter material  parts. I would be very careful with the headlight pots. Try to use low pressure.

to answer how to get the handle off...   there should be a TINY rolled pin in the handle and goes through the shaft.

Use duct tape on the handle and other areas you do not want to blast. Two or three layers is better.

So I couldn't do it on Tuesday or Wednesday. Auto teacher wasn't there. He was there today so I got a bit of blasting done. Got a bit of the used battery tray (from Rob-1969chargerrtse) and one of the parts from the headlight door actuators done. The teacher left me in the shop and went for lunch. Well I guess he turned off the power (for the tools) in the shop because about 10-15 mins later, less sand started coming out...and less and less. Then I realized the compressor wasn't on and I had almost no air pressure in the gun. It wasn't even enough to blow sand around. Talked to the teacher when he came back and he said I can't do it tomorrow (already has lunch plans) but I can sandblast more next week (Monday for sure).

Looks great Cody, nice to see you're working on it.   I have a new battery tray if you want it.  It has rounded corners compared to the sharp cornered one you have there.  Pay for shipping and I'll mail to you?. Pm me.
I have other extra items I'll have to go through also that I can send with that.
The one I sent you was in my car when I got it, but not correct. I bought a new one like in the picture which is correct and then found the other one in my trunk later on, that's why I had 2.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Glad to see the trunk lock being used... it's been on a shelf in the man cave since I sold my project charger 2 or 3 years ago

Hey guys, I'm in the process of packing up all my parts into the car so I can move it to the new house next month. I'm excited, I can put the Charger, Duster & Coronet into the new garage....it fits 6 cars!!! Anyways, I need a couple of minor things for the trip. The front bumper is sitting loosely and a piece of trim is sitting loose. I don't want to lose anything going down the road (bad memories of that happening to me before). I'm looking for one front bumper stabilizer bracket and a couple of clips for the belt molding. I don't have much money (pretty much broke right now) so cheap or free would be appreciated! Thanks guys :)

Soooo not much of an update but it is something. I've always wanted to put '68 headlight bezels on it because I think they look super cool. That being said, I found a driver's side one in the swap meet at the MATS last month and I installed it a few nights ago. Much better....  :2thumbs:

I suppose the bezels will provide make a cleaner look when the headlights are on... :2thumbs:
