Anyone had trouble putting the "Mopar Performance" valve covers on a 440 with HP manifolds? The passenger side won't set down flat on the head. It rests against the manifold. I read somewhere a while back and I think they used double gaskets but I can't remember for sure. Any ideas?

I dont know if it the best practice but...I used a dremel and ground down the inside lip that hangs down on the inside by the two spots that were getting hung up until there was enough clearance for the intake.  Mine is a small block using a edelbrock air gap.  It looks fine and because it is on the top side I do not have any leaks.

I got mine to fit?  I only used one gasket.  I remember it was a pain, but it fit :ahum:

EDIT:

May be different because you have a 440, but I don't see why it would be.

When I had mine on, the pass. side rested right against it.  The black wrinkle paint burned right off there too. :rotz:
