you know. After I just posted in the "Stupidist things you have EVER heard......" thread I started thinking. There are so many great old movies out there that some people may have never heard of, so why not start a thread about it. After all, I never heard of Dirty Mary Crazy Larry before comming to this forum, and look what happened because of it ;)

Rules. Try to put a link to the movie

I'll Start.
Raise the Titanic

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081400/

The movie was a lot of fun, though it was a bit talky the last part of when the ship comes up... even on the old effects was worth the wait. Just talking about the movie makes me want to go see it again. A must see for anyone who is a fan of the Titanic itself. again, remember the movie was made before they found the actual ship and saw it was split in half.

here is a cool page with some pics from the movie.

Do you want great old movies with muscle cars? Or just plain great old movies - there are thousands of those.

If you want some rare gems with cars, I have a few I can toss up here....

Hollywood Knights, funny as heck. And I also love Eddie and the Cruisers.

I'm gonna try to leave out the usual great old movies and list some that some may have not seen yet.....

1930's - Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - amazing amazing amazing. Gives goosebumps to any American - you'll know why when you see it.

1940's -The Wolfman - still epic and eerie to this day - one of the best all-time monster movies

1950's - Suddenly - Frank Sinatra plays an psychotic assassin plotting to kill the president in a small town - different role for him and a good one too
King Creole - #1 reason why Elvis was as good an actor as he was a singer - his best acting performance.

1960's - The Hustler - some of the best pool scenes ever films - and the #1 reason why George C. Scott was a great actor (#2 reason - Anatomy of
             a Murder
and #3 Patton) - all worth watching many times over.

Point Blank - the movie that remade into Mel Gibson's "Payback" - and the #1 reason Lee Marvin is immortal.

Thomas Crown Affair - #2 reason why Steve McQueen is super cool (Bullitt being #1 of course)

1970's - Dirty Harry - seriously, if you haven't watched this one from beginning to end you are missing out on life. The best modern-day cop movie
because it involves so many political issues that our law enforcement agencies still face to this day.

1980's - Clash of the Titans - #1 reason why Laurence Olivier is immortal....he plays Zeus...and he does it better than anyone else ever could.

....I could go on and on with each decade - especially the 60's....but I don't want to hog the thread....

:D
