hang on there bunkie,.. even the original (much sportier) LNG Charger RT showcar was a four door and so the writing was on the wall... so how was it YOU thought it was gonna be a two door?..

Except that it started as a two door and either Lutz or Eaton asked that it be made into a four door "just to see".
The new one is a great performer and I have driven one several times now but each time I drove one, when I got out it still looked the same.  Wouldn't matter what they called it or how good it performed, to me I just can't get past the styling.

I didn't think I was I wasn't bashing you or your car. I hope you enjoy it. I just don't like anything current that Chrysler makes. Right now, I'd buy a Mustang before I'd buy a new Mopar. Sorry.

i drove a hemi daytona with everything and i wasnt too impressed. i drove up to the dealership in my charger. then i took the salesman for a ride afterwards, i think i scared him lol good times.................Mike

I'm happy you like your new ride, and hope it gives you years of trouble-free, happy motoring. I'm not gonna try it though, just because it's not appealing to me at all. If I was to spend that much money on a new car, it's got to have 2 doors, styling, and a manual tranny to go with the performance for that price tag- the new Charger fails on all 3 of those criteria. And it's not just the name thing, although that does supply a big annoyance factor. The car wouldn't appeal to me no matter what name they put on it. Maybe in 5-6 years when the Intrepid is worn out and I need another daily driver/beater, I might go for a used one, otherwise I'll pass. As far as not knocking it till you try it, I drove an '07 Shelby GT Mustang earlier this month..... now that was a ride I would seriously consider putting in my garage, as it was a blast to drive, and met all my criteria for a new car. Just still holding out hope for the new Challenger to come thorugh, otherwise I'd go for that Mustang in a heartbeat- and I'm not a Ford guy, normally.

I've heard great things about the car!  If I get the money, I will probably buy one.  I need something that will easily hold four people without making them into contortionists getting in and out.  I've got enough 2-doors to last a while.  However, I'm with the majority.  If I buy one, the Charger badges will be replaced with Coronet badges.

If I ever got alot of cash at once, Id go out and get the SRT-8 version and a new Challenger. I think they are both mean looking.
