This might surprise some of you, but I don't really see this situation as a bad thing. I know, I defended Jesse...even when he obviously didn't deserve it, and toward the end I felt like a fool for doing so. I still like him as a person, but don't appreciate the way he has conducted himself with regards to D-C.com and many members and their orders for t's and stickers....it's pretty much inexcusable. I also don't think that we will ever know for sure wether or not we can rely on him to keep the bills paid and the lights on...even if the lights came back on tomorrow we would all still wonder what would happen next. I think that if we are going to put effort into this new site, we should take pride in it and stick with it, even if or when D-C.com comes back up. In fact, the ONLY thing I see D-C.com good for at this point is cutting and pasting info back into this site. IMO the info I posted is still MY info...that I chose to share with everyone else. It is still in my head and if I choose to paste it here, then that is MY perrogative. So, anyone who chooses to repost their info and comments here from there then I say...go for it. Let's make this site better that D-C.com...without the delays, down time, stalling and slow server response.

Also, while I'm at it I wanted to say this: I have offended many of you, said things out of turn or without warrant, I have used my sarcasm as a way of passively belittling others when I felt attacked or challenged and I have been obnoxious about many of my personal beliefs and opinions. I just wanted to apologize to everyone I have offended or alienated, and let you know that I am working on changing these things about myself. I see this new forum as an opportunity to change my attitude and the way I respond to situations and topics. Don't get me wrong...I'll still stand my ground, but I'll let others stand theirs as well...agree to disagree and still remain friends.

Thanks Troy and everyone else who is helping make this happen...I look forward to helping any way I can.

Bill

Bill,  Good to see you here.  I have always had good communications with you and hope to in the future.  Don't be so hard on yourself for standing up for your thoughts and ideas.  I'm just glad that people are different and not the same.  It is the differences that gives pleasantress to waking up every morning.

It will be nice if the new board brings some more of us together that may have been at odds.  After all we are all here because we do have at least one thing in common, even if we have nothing else. I think we are a great bunch of folks and that when it comes down to it, we all care about each other and we have each others backs. ;D

Bill,

you and I once had many disagreements before I left D-C.com for that year. I hope that maybe with this new board and the time I spent away before can maybe change that. You are one of the many fountains of knowledge that we need on message boards like this to keep them going with some proffesionalism along with some fun thrown in... or maybe the otherway around? Anyways thanks for being here for all the members that are here already and will be here soon. The same goes for all the "oldies" from D-C.com as well.

Bill, You are alright. You have never offended me but I am impressed never the less. You are one example of what makes this a great group of people. It took a big man to write that message. It makes me proud to be a part of this board. Who care what it's called. This is one awesome place to hang out!

Khyron

I was still a 500 post Noob on D-C but I have never taken offence to seen you step out of line myself. Though, i'm not one to judge people. it's just not my nature.

It takes a big man to see some fault and work on changing, even if the fault is unwarrented. Welcome to the new site

I propose a transfer of status - like bringing credits from an old college or moving up a class in racing....anyone else agree? I would definitely prefer "Old Timer" to "Newbie" or maybe "Retired D-C Old Timer"

Good post, Bill.
A new site deserves a clean slate & to have bygones be bygones for all of us.

I like the transfer of status idea. :)
I wonder what my last post was on D-C...I'm sure it was extremely profound, almost prophetic. ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

As much as I'd like to have Old Timer status and 5,370 posts in my signature...it wouldn't mean much without the posts actually here on this site. i sure hope we can recover some of that info... :-\

I was with D-C.com for a long time, but mostly just as a reader in the background. I've only met a few of the hundreds of members in this site. I really like how everyone gets along and helps with the Chargers. I may not know a whole lot, but I like having a place like this where I can find out anything related to my Charger. Thanks alot.   Robert :2thumbs:

Go ahead and stroll through this antique to see how many of the members that posted are not around anymore....I guess that is how it goes.

Just a few months for some people that usually respond. Only 8 people that haven't been in over a year.

ChargerRob is also talking about hundreds of forum members in 2005.... There are thousands of members right now.

Personnaly I like this forum BECAUSE of the simple set up (no 35 sub forums) and mostly just Charger talk. On other forums people open topics about the dumbest things like "I've been to the dentist and now my mouth hurts!" Well that sucks for you but I don't care to read about that on a car forum. And then the members brag about how active that forum is and that it's so dead here.  Well, I'd rather be a member of a "dead" forum where I can read about my favorite muscle car then of an active one that has thousands of topics that have zero to do with cars. Just my  :Twocents:

Ghoste

Im with you 100%.  I never even bother with the off topic section here.  There are others here who spend most of their time posting there and thats cool too but Im like you, I just want to look at the Charger stuff.

I see your point. I do like a General forum though for off topic stuff. It is not for everyone but at least it is there if you want it.
In regards to the niche type forums: I do like that this forum caters to specifically the 66-74 Charger. You know when you speak about a part or procedure that others are on the same train of thought about it.
