I have a 70 Charger SE with a 383. I want to install this hei i have but i have no wiring instructions. do I have to keep the ballast resitor and that stupid ignition box thing? I read that the hei needs a constant voltage inlike a points dist, and the resistor drops the voltage when its running (or starting.... :RantExplode:) so that cancels that out. Hei needs 2 wires to work, a tach and a BATT. Thankyou for any help.

HEI Distributor - one Pos wire switched 12v power and one wire Tach if you have a GM or Procomp 6007 HEI Dist, it says Batt or + above the terminal for the positive, coil is in the Dist so it's grounded from block.

If you have a Procomp 7007 Ready to run Dist the red wire from the dist to coil pos along with a switched 12v power wire and black wire from the dist to the coil neg you don't have to run a ground wire to the coil terminal.

No resistor or anything else is needed to run either of the Distributor types above.
