figured out my console wiring problem
my console has a 68 harness in it that has a 6 prog plug instead of a 4 prong

Got  problem figured out 68 and prior have a 6 prong plug because the back up switch is mounted to the side of the shifter mech. There would be two extra wires coming off that, violet and I believe a violet/white stripe. Starting in '69 there was no backup switch down there. It is incorporated through the newer style 3 prong neutral safety switch, thus a 4 prong connection box at the console.

i was thinking of doing the kick panels also, but in a 1st gen there is some kind of electrical relay setup behind it, i can't see a way to get the speaker magnet back there with out having to re wire more stuff

MY BRAKE saga just before leaving for the power tour

Well we worked on the car all day last saturday doing some up grades and also getting it ready for the trip .  Sunday morning I had a free car show to goto across town and the brakes were acting a litgtle funny .   Well by sunday afternoon we had it over at my buddys mopar shop to make up goody bags for our local mopar show here this weekend . We got to lookin at the brakes ,changed out the master cyclinder, and the booster check valve .  Well finally we decided it must be the booster , long story short no one had a 69  or a 70 booster .  We found and ordered a 71 boost for monday hopeing we could make it work .

So then once the boost came in monday at noon we hoped to have it on and done by 3 pm to take off for st louis to spend the night at allens mopad before driving into effingham ill tuesday morning .
Well the boost was huge and fought getting off and the new one had to be cut and hammered into place ( bigger holes in different local on and fire wall and in bracket ) . Took us till 7 pm to get it on and working .  Have better then ever braking power now . I think my original boost has been failing ever since new 4 years ago , it always leaked back down when parked and need to build back vacuum this new bigger one works great.

Anyways so we didnt even get to allens place untill after midnight , I hate driving after dark with 40 year old headlights .  Then we had to get up bright and early to make it to effingham and catch up with the mopower guys .
