50 miles west of Topeka in Manhattan they had SOFTBALL size hail. Took out lots of cars. You can go to WIBW.com to see the damage. Topeka was missed by a few miles as it passed by.

Another round of tornados last night. They sounded sirens about midnight but we weren't affected. Manhattan got hit again with a tornado that hit Kansas State University and did 20 million dollars damage. It killed at least 2 people. At least 4 towns were hit and had major damage. Pic is the Toyota dealership in Manhattan.

We had 3 tornado warnings tonight in 3 hours :P But they all were for radar indecated tornados, and nothing actual. But it has been raining hard all night. The weatherman just said in our area, there has been 2 to 6 inches in the past 6 hours, and a few more hours left to go :P

It's usually pretty warm here, rained a few days ago but it only last a few minutes. Overall weather is pretty nice in Afghanistan this time of year. A lot of mosquitos which I don't like because I'm not a fan of malaria. hehe It does smell in some parts of the country.  :shruggy:

Kinda hot here today. 100 again today. My infared showed the surface temp on this vehicle I was working on today  :eek2: Then the other pic is the atmosphere temp.  :icon_smile_tongue:  I don't know how far these reach but I would say it gets up there. You can hit a cloud and it gets concederibly warmer.

It's incredible how much 2500 miles can mean. In Vegas you guys average 4 inches of rain PER YEAR.

In Florida we can get 4 inches of rain in AN HOUR....  :scared:

My mom lives 20 miles or so South of me and sometimes she will call to see if we are floating yet.. Sometimes we are getting hammered and sometimes it's bright and sunny..

A few years ago my buddy got flooded out due to the river near him rising. It had not rained near us, but about 4 miles up stream they had major flash flooding for a few hours.. So we got no rain yet he had water coming up to his shop door... Bummer......

I love summertime. :icon_smile_approve:
The last few weeks it's been about 100º in the days +/- 5 or so. No a/c in my car, I drive with the windows open. It's been 75º at night, maybe a little higher. I open the windows on either side of the house at night, flip off the a/c & sleep with no covers, with a floor fan turned on low. Perfect. Absolutely perfect, wish it would stay just like that 11 months out of the year.
If this area was really humid, I'd like it about 15º cooler for those 11 months, but as it is, I'm just fine. That's it, no stinkin' winter period. :P

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Just had a thunderstorm here.  In the middle of December.  With snow on the ground.  And freezing temperatures.  What the hell?
