Hi All

I am working the my suspension for a 73 Charger SE, that I got this month.
Several of the busing and boots were bad, so I am replacing all.

So for I have remove the engine, all the front end suspension. K member, fenders, bumper, etc.
Going to replace all the bushing, ball joints, tie rods, etc.

I was cleaning the torsion bars and I saw yellow paint on them at one end, both bars have the yellow paint.
I forgot to mark which end going in the back.
I think the ends with the yellow paint are in the back.
Am I right?
I want to put them in the way they come out.
Which is the back, so that I can mark them before I finish cleaning them and repaint.
I am paint all the piece with high temp paint, but the boots and bushing.

Thanks
Lyall

they are labeled as L or R on one of the ends. If not then the PN will give you the side. ODD number is left side.

You can install them either way, front or back but NORMALLY labeled end is toward rear

I checked the ends, the left  read 659 with 143 (yellow end),  on the other end  UXW with 659L
The right read 658R with 143 (yellow end), on the  other end UXW with 658R.

I have not started to clean the right one. One end was dirty, the other was not.
I think the dirty end goes to the back, the clean in the lower control arm.
So if I match the ends going the same I should be okay. :yesnod:

thanks again

I just installed the L and R labeled sides to rear then you'll have visible the side throught crossmember hole
