My little cousin's '69 R/T SE freshly painted...   Lucky kid huh (tell him how lucky he's watching)...   I'm REALLY worried about his safety (it's got a BUILT 440).   PLEASE warn him about the RISKS involved with owning a 7.2!   Anyone had one so early?   I had one at 17, as did Trav I think...?     >>>There is a HUGE Street Racing Scene in L.A.   (and they are already asking him to race).   They do have a track, and I'm making him PROMISE just to use that, and he did.   He said "he's dreamt of this too long to screw it up"...   I hope he keeps his word!

Part of my '69 R/T SE is in this car (part of me) > the 8 3/4 and HD leafsprings are "safekept" in her (I think).

He has been a Charger Fanatic (has had a "Charger Shrine" in his room forever)...   Guess who "hooked him up"?   :)   Got the Charger from "440Charger" from D-C.com...   Absolutley RUST FREE Ca. Blackplate '69, with MINT Grille and tailamps.   Has NICE woodgrain on dash and even the original Black Button Door handles!   He's detailing a 6-way seat track I hooked him up w/ and new seat covers/interior.   What a car.

Sorry about the pic quality...   Wheels look ALOT nicer (new Torque Thrusts), and paint isn't polished out yet...   I'll get better pix when she's done.

Believe it or not, I think my 68 is brighter than that.  That is a good looking car.

I hate to say this, but he is going to race it, the temptation is too strong not to.  :yesnod:

Sounds like your cousin put some of himself in the car and I have a feeling that will help him weather the storm.

Good Luck. Your support and guidance has obviously shaped his attitudes and preferences up to this point so don't loose sight of that. I have 3 of my own (5yr daughter and twin 3yr boys) and am hoping that I can keep them as my firends as well as my children, since they always seem to listen to their friends!

Nice, brings back alot of memories. I had a 1970 Charger R/T at 15 before I had my license. I had been working since I was 14 & saved up about $1800.00 at that point. I found it for sale locally & told my dad about it. He told me he was going to get new tires for his truck & wanted me to go with him so he didn't have to sit in the waiting room by himself. Well, he took me to where the Charger was & told me he had co-signed for a loan for me & it was mine. Under the agreement that I had to make the payments & get no tickets. He knew I was responsible enough to trust me. I never asked for any help. I upheld my end of the agreement until one day coming home from the local cruisin (Telegraph) at about 2:30 a.m. I was rear ended by a drunk driver while I was doing 45MPH. He hit me on an angle doing about 80 or 90. I didn't see it coming until the last second when I saw his lights flash on me. The car was totalled & so was my dream (at now 19). Later repaired by someone else. I did see it back on the street 2 times since. I bought my current 70 R/T S.E. with the insurance money about 6-7 months later & have had 6 or 7 other chargers since. Now my oldest son just turned 14 & I am trying to locate my old 70 R/T back for him when he turns 16. To see kids today show interest in old cars is rare/unique but worth while If you get them into it.

I actually had my first charger when I was 14 yes 14.  It is the one charger4404psd has now.   It only had a mild 440 in when I bought it.  However the motor that it has now would have not been good then.  I also bought a second one when I was 16 and sold it she was pretty rough......but guess what it had an 01 on the door.....

Nice color, didn't think of General Lee car at all when I saw it, more like the color of the '68 in Spy Hard or something, anyways, great looking car and that kid is one VERY lucky kid, sixteen and highschool and such a way cool car, VERY lucky.      A lot of car to handle and not crash, hope he is ok with it and the worse thing that ever happens is a speeding ticket maybe.    Its just when you start screwing around with all that power that you can get into a little trouble, then its too late once it happens.   Can happen to anyone, not just because he's sixteen.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

For some reason his block has this on the stampad???:

NICE. Hopefully the thrill of owning and working on such a beast will keep a level head. Cheers.

Great looking Charger, that's one lucky kid!

Hopefully he's mature enough to KNOW his car is cool & not have to PROVE it to everyone.

Looks great.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I wish I had a car like that back when I was 16... or then again maby it was for the best, both for myself and the community, that I didnt buy myself a Charger untill I turned 28..

I hope he loves his ride, gives it alot of TLC and also remebers to be carefull when out cruising the streets..

I probably would have died by 17 if I had a charger at 16.

Great Charger. Yes I had a 69 440 4 speed Charger when I was 15. Its a thousand wonders I didnt get killed. Came close twice. After my Dad drove it and seen the power it had, he was somewhat hesitant about me owning that car.

So keep a close eye on your cuz!

Growing up my father had a charger when he was a kid and when i was a kid from the stories that i wasa told that car scares the crap out of me. When he got older he bought a 70 r/t clone with some mods all i have to say is WOW. Now that i am older and smarter i realize that I would rather cruise in  r/t then race, we all know that they are fast last thing we want to do is find out, kill ourselves or ruin the charger. I say let him talk to some old timers in person to find out what the car can really do, why take the chance and find out the hard way.
