the stock gauge or amp gauge, read far to the right, which indicates the battery is charging, but what should this gauge read normal?

With a fully chargerd battery, center to slightly right of center while driving down the road.
At idle with lights and heater on, probably about 20 amp discharge

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.
