What are some the best charger deals you or somebody you know have gotten in the past 5-10 years?
I know a guy near me who bought a triple black 69 RT needing just detail work(cleaning, wash, wax, etc.) to be a 2/3 car for $5500 in 96/97.
Absolutely beautiful car! :drool5:

I picked this POS up four years ago for $2500.  69 R/T SE, 440, auto on the floor, every option except sunroof and Hemi.  Oh and stripe delete.  I picked it up just like you see it there, except a few odds and ends I had to get her movable.

That's a good deal.

My last good deal was a complete '68 grill, two front valances and a fender for $325.

10 years ago a coworker gave me my 69 #'s matching 383 4bbl 4 speed b5 and white sunroof Charger. a year later he sold me his big block 66 Coronet 440 for $300. oh yeah, and my $25 commuter/winter car. The Duster I got for $400 but that was 20 years ago. I still have them all.

This was about 5 years ago when I was looking for a 1969 Charger. My plan was to build a Charger convertible from the '68 Coronet 500 convertible I have, but finding a complete car close to me wasn't easy. I opened up my search to include 1968's & 1970's & that's when I spotted the ebay auction for mine. I went to Indiana to see it in person when the bids were around $1100 or so, but they crept up to about $1500 when I was there to see it. I was prepared to bid a little more, but the seller offered it to me for $1200 since I was there & realized I was a serious buyer.

The car is only a 383-2V car, but all the body work had been done & there was over $2000 worth of new sheet metal on the car. It had 2 new quarters, new floors, new trunk floor, new trunk extensions, new valance & corners, new sail panels, new tail panel which may have been NOS, & the entire car had been stripped, cleaned, & was primed in the epoxy primer. I didn't want to appear too excited at the offer, but sure as hell never expected to get a decent car for that price. He even gave me an extra door, an almost mint hood, & refused to take a deposit & said it was mine if I wanted it.

I borrowed a trailer the following weekend, got it home, looked it over some more, & decided it was too nice to cut up & turn into a convertible. It was missing just about everything, but it did come with a K-frame & it's dash that had the VIN & matching title. I had just sold a bunch of NOS mouldings & lenses for a 1970 GTX that I had had since 1983 for $1700 that I only paid $90 for, so it didn't cost me anything out of pocket to own this Charger. At least not yet, I've spent a lot since then on a 1969 parts car & other missing things I found here, on Moparts, & also ebay.

Have you looked to see what insurance will be? I had my car registered in my dads name because insurance for me would have been 200 a month.

Well,, in a round about way I got a good deal..

Car1: current Hemi Charger...I paid $1800 for my former '70 v-code Charger R/T, put about another $1000 into it, drove it for about 10 years then traded it even-up for my current '68 Hemi Charger R/T back in about '96... I've got about another $7000 into it, so that's about $8800 in today dollars for my '68 Hemi Charger R/T......

Car 2: current v-code '70 Charger R/T.... I bought a v-code 'Cuda for $1300, sold it for $10,200, made the nearly $10,000 and paid about $17,000 for the Charger. So, that's a complete six pack '70 Charger R/T in need of resto, for about $7000...

I bought my first '69 RT/SE back in 2005 for 6k.  Only bad things were that it had a bad roof, quarter panels, and no ashtray.  I bought my other complete '69 RT/SE back in April of 2007 for $8,400.00.  Steals?  Maybe not, but I didn't get Egouged.  Well, at least in my opinion.   :shruggy:

Friend of mine is buying a primered 69 440 auto (engine and trans rebuilt) for $6,000.
I guess the current owner is getting divorced and is moving into a apartment and needs to unload the Charger before the wife gets her hands on it.

My friend stopped by to ask me if it was a good deal.
Asked him how come he was not at the bank getting the money.
And if he isn't going to buy it let me know.

pettyfan43

I bought a solid 66 80% of the original paint solid straight and just about complete for 1250 bucks two years ago. It is in the process of getting a 440 heart transplant!

I bought the one in my pic in March. 318 car, but had rebuilt 383 and rebuilt trans. 3000.00

Picked up a #'s matching 68' R/T 4-speed 5 years ago for $2500.  Got the copy of the original title signed by Mr. Norm himself.  Red, no vinyl top, white stripes, and black interior.  Came with about 10 Carter AVS carbs and some NOS steel that I sold for about $4000 that same week.  So I actually made $1500 from picking up the car and I still have it!  Now I just need to get it put back together!  tipopiola

Ask Travis F.  He gets good charger deals almost on a weekly basis.  HAHA  :nana:

I was going to buy this Charger for 800, but the owner didn't have the title.  He bought it from a guy in prison and never got it.  He bought it years ago, and just about a month ago, the guy showed up with the title.  It's not gone.  Hopefully it won't be for a while.
