i found a  73 charger for sale in my neighbourhood and was wondering what would this one be worth . it still carries it's original paint .it all original it has the original  bench seat 318 car with power buldge hood frame rails look good and the body is still in fair shape .the owner wasn't home but i need some advice on what to offer the guy for it.

Looks like a real Rallye.  It really depends on if it is driveable or not.  I'd say no more that $4k if it is road worthy.  I'm sure some others will chime in here.

I didn't see a for sale sign, is the car for sale or are you just trying to get the owner to sell?

It looks like the car might be undercoated, and if it is then the floors should be in good shape.

I love that stripe. Theres a cream colored 340 rallye up in my neck of the woods with the same stripe.

Looks like a nice car, good luck.

saying hypothetically it is a real rallye, runs and drives good... 8-10k :Twocents:

offer him 5k and see what he says

If you have no vision or creative spirit, you can always fall back on the way the factory did it.

Fitz73Chrgr

You guys are nuts!!!  Its a 318 column shift auto with a bench seat!  Oh, and its just a 73!  Don't get me wrong I love 3rd gens, I have a 73 myself.  But you guys are trying raise 3rd gen prices to that of 2nd gens (which are also overpriced).  If you pay 5k for that car, you're paying too much. :Twocents:

1972Rallye

VIN won't tell you if it's a Rallye.  Fender tag won't either on a Lynch Rd. car.  It looks like a nice, solid car. I'd say $5000 range would be fair... it is a 318 bench car.  Feel the owner out and go from there.

Nacho... I've been looking at the sway bars on every '73 I come across and I've been seeing both straight and bent varieties regardless of differential.

hemihead

If it's a Rallye car, I would say 8K being it's in nice shape but only a 318 Column Auto/ Bench. I would guess it's a Hardtop because of the woodgrain inserts on the door panel. The Coupes had a insert that looked like fabric.  :Twocents:

The Rallye package (A57) was available on either Coupes (WL21) or Hardtops (WH23).  The only way to tell if a car is a true Rallye is to see A57 on the build sheet or fender tag (It won't appear on Lynch Rd cars - 7th digit "A").  If it's a 340 car, then it's a Rallye by default since the 340 was only available with the Rallye package.  Clear as mud, eh?  :2thumbs:

RallyeMike

Neato. Rear sway bar, power bulge hood with NO hood call outs. Looks like an original 318 Rallye to me. Would make a nice cruiser. Act dumb and start low @ $1500.

EVEN YOU LOL...

About coupe or hardtop. Checking the door panels it could be a hardtop, but bench with cloth insert and without center arm rest makes me doubt... couldn't you get some uipgrade on trim with an extra payment quote even you get a lower option car ?

Maybe canopy roof was part of coupe trim too ?

When I saw the pic of course you came in  my mind inmediatly. Yes could it be but Manual parts doesn't state difference on bar in relation with axle and you are able to check it. The fact is the plates are isolated anyway.

Rallye was a trim package after 72 you could get it with a 318 and buckets and 440 only available in rallye and SE, 340 rallye only,  Rallye included rear sway bar and power bulge hood rallye stripe package as well.  I would not give more than 8k for it if that, but with todays prices it would not surprise me for this guy to get 10k or more
