I am either going to go with a 340 or 440 with a 727 or an A-833 in my 73.  What rear end would be correct for a 73 with these 4 possible combinations?  Would they all have come with a 8 3/4?  Thanks.

8 3/4 is very strong axle. Mostly sure ppl will give you Dana 60 advice specially with 440 4 speeds, but I think thats not necesarry unles you will add EXTRA performance on Car to get over 500 HP

Thanks Nacho, but my question is: what is the correct rear end for these engine trans combos in a 73 Rallye?  Were Danas even available in 73?

This is the best I could find in my info.  There was no mention of rear size only axle ratios.

Heres a couple more things I found, maybe the "heavy duty" axle means 8 3/4?

Thanks!  That answers the next question I had about axle ratios!

I was just flipping through the owners manual and it only mentions the 8 1/4 and 8 3/4 axles.  Ive never seen anything other than these 2 on stock 73s either.
