Well guys it's time i have my first major servicing done on my '99 300 M,. it's at 56K + miles and it needs new struts in back and a speaker replaced in the drivers door... So i'm gonna do the recomended 60K mile servicing.
I know there's a long list of things to be done as per my owners manual, but i'm not used to having these newfangled autos serviced at the specified interval. (I did the brakes and tires and battery earlier this year)
Got a couple of RECALL notices from CHRYSLER, one dealing with the ignition interlock, and the other with the seat suddenly reclining under hard exceleration...
Anyone got any tips and recomendations so I can avoid unpleasent suprises?..  :P
thanks in advance.

Ask them how much it will cost before they start doing any work.  :icon_smile_big:

They will be paying for the ignition & seat - correct?

What else is there that needs to be done?

I am guessing that since you did your own brakes you know your way around a tool box - what are your plans for the weekend?

Maybe you are like me, I could do a lot of the work on my daily driver myself but it is much easier droping it off at the dealer in the AM, getting the shuttle to the office and picking it up in the PM.   Yeah it costs haevy bread but I think it is money well spent.   Frees up the weekend for family, friends  and the work that needs to be done on my summer car  :drive:!   It's only money!

Hey Strat,

I remember doing a bunch of fuel rail recalls on those 3.5's.  You might want to look into seeing if it's been done or needs to be done on your car.  I forget what all is in the 60 K service.  Timing belt would be a good thing to look at or change though.  There's an inspection plate that's easy enough to get out of the way.  I don't remember if a tranny service is part of the deal, but it wouldn't surprise me.  I haven't even seen a maint. schedule on one of those things in four years.
